Does anyone recognise this handbrake lever? Trying to find a gaiter for it. I know the mounting bracket has been modified.

I'll hazard a guess as a Mini, Minor, Midget etc item. Don't recall those being sufficiently luxurious to have gaiters though! Strangely however, deep in the memory banks I think I recall later BL offerings, eg Montego having pretty much the same arrangement, possibly exact, along with a gaiter, a full gaiter such that the harvested lever remains like new. Maestros and Montegos have probably all been scrapped long ago though. Doesn't the likes of Carbuilder Solutions have generic gaiters?

A google image search + keyword "handbrake" gets a hit on this:

which is an ebay listing for an MGF (1995-2002) Handbrake Lever: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143205609856
So I guess look for an MGF handbrake gaiter.
I notice that there's also someone on ebay selling an MGF handbrake + gaiter for 20 quid or so here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/157654930051
Cheers
Neat trick, smartypants [emoji23]. Not changed much from the 60's either, but why would they!

Following up on the link given I found a complete handle with boot & bought it. It's an MGF one & also has a warning light switch which I won't need. The boot will need altering to sit flat on the floor.

Compared with the previous one.

The lever below is the new boot lid release, formerly from a VW Golf!
Switch is handy for Iva [emoji6], hope she appreciates it!

Airbag ecu? [emoji23]
Mo mentioned in the text it's a VWGolf trunk release. If you look carefully, just ahead of what is presumably a tubular seat base, there's a tab sticking out, near the screwdriver, which appears to have a boot opening logo on it.

Golf boot latch , looks like that's what I'm after, could you show the other end ,at the boot please Maurice
It's a Ford one I think (it was fitted in the car when I got it) hooked up with a good quality Bowden cable so it works smoothly despite having a convoluted path to the release handle.
