Sad news
It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Sue Wright nee Saunders , who left us this week at the age of 57.
Many within the NSRA and hot rod scene will remember Sue from her years in the community, having been part of it since the age of 17. Alongside her husband Dave, Sue was well known through their trading stall Hot Rod Tiki, and for owning and building several feature cars over the years, including the stunning Watson style 59 Brookwood Wagon The Headhunter, alongside Dave?s Winfield painted 59 El Camino Golden Idol.
For the last 8 or 9 years Sue faced a muscle wasting disease with incredible strength, determination and positivity, never letting it define her. Right up until last weekend she was still active, even driving their camper to support Dave at Lead Rooms.
Following a cardiac arrest on Bank Holiday Monday, Sue was taken to Southampton General Hospital. After further tests, it was sadly confirmed that she had suffered irreversible brain injury, and she passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Even in passing, Sue?s generosity and spirit shone through. As an organ donor, she gave three people the chance of a new life through the donation of her kidneys and liver, an extraordinary final gift that reflects the kind of person she was.
Our thoughts are with Dave, her family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved her.
Rest in peace, Sue. You will be remembered.Attachment 67546
