She's a good looking car Neil, so up or down would work, I think. [emoji848]

decision made, the airbag stuff all goes monday. i happen to have 2x 8 1/2x15" and 2x 4x15" slot mags in stock so the wheels are sorted. i'l almost certainly make a profit on the bullitt mustang 18" wheels considering what i paid so that's good too, more build money.

new chassis stands arrived today ready to be modified. they're static caravan ones and like a cross between a chassis stand and a builders acro prop. adjustable from 15-20" (biggest i could find) we'll lift the adjustable bit out and make extenders to drop into the base and receive the adjustable bit for each so we can set them higher. it'll overcome the main shortcoming of my 2 post lift, it's awkward to fit sills (as on the zephyr here at the moment) as the lift's arms get in the way. once on stands the arms can swing out of the way for easy access. plus at that height we can sit on my swivel chair base to work as it's more comfy than standing, lol.

Sounds like a plan Neil.

yes mate, plus at £55 delivered i thought the set of 4 were cheap. they're galvanised too, bonus.

the bronco radiator arrived today for my nash. there will be some quite radical surgery to the radiator support panel to fit it, it's huge. to be fair i did expect it to be big being for a v8 bronco up to 5.8 (351). i'm not expecting any cooling issues with the little holden engine in the summer for sure. still at £50.40 including the post i had to have it, lol. plus it has the capacity to cool a larger engine should i fit one in the future.
they came yesterday and today and removed the engine and box from the zephyr so he can have that back next week after christmas. we started cutting the rot from the o's gutter/roof area too. as always it's worse than it looked, aren't they always . the owner's glad he bought a cheaper car as he could've bought one twice the price that looked ok then be faced with all this 'normal' welding in a year or two anyway. at least once bare metalled and welded this'll be that same price but he knows there's no hidden nasties.

Good luck with the Zephyr Neil.

so it occurred to me today that now i can band steel wheels why don't i band the stock nash 15" steels for the rear of the nash? fronts can stay the stock 4" width so they're fine. i'd only need to do the rears and i can go to 10" as i know they'll fit, especially as i'll probably radius the rear arches. bonus is i'd lose more of the damaged o/s rear 1/4 panel too. bonus, bonus is i can sell the 4 1/2" and 8 1/2" slot mags i have which will add to the build budget.

ok, ok, i say the same to others sometimes
here's a pic of the cute little (16" throat) english wheel i bought from machine mart. it was on sale at £160 ish so about £70 off the normal price. bargain. i'll start another thread for other stuff so this doesn't get too cluttered and confusing.

the 18" bullitt mustang wheels are sold now, being collected by parcel farce tomorrow (hopefully). bl00dy expensive that was too, it seems prices for pretty much everything's gone up. except fuel strangely, i noticed going past tesco's yesterday evening and diesel was £1.76/litre. lower than the £1.98/litre from a few months ago, but still very expensive. imagine if they hadn't sneakily changed to per litre pricing (so we wouldn't notice how expensive it was getting) and fuel was still sold at a per gallon price!!! £7.99/gallon for diesel, outrageous!!.

Shell Garages seem to be passing on the lower prices our local one is 10 pence a litre cheaper than Sainsbury's. [emoji106]

i haven't forgotten the nash, honest . i've bought some more mismatched parts to go together (i sound like nobler, lol). a 42-48 chevy front disc brake conversion and a 36 dodge tube front axle. it'll mean some machining no doubt but nothing i've not done before. all good fun.
