Picked up some parts tonight that Wayne (Oddrods.co.uk) had modified for me.
Wiper spindles as std were too short for how I had modified them, so Wayne punched out the original spindles and machined up some new stainless ones and tig'd them back in.

After a small trim they now fit the wipers properly :)

Also polished up the column top panel, loosely assembled here;

After going to wheels Day and picking up some bits for the car (and some cut price polish :) ) I sorted out the bits for the bootlid.
Inner locks, hinge mounts, strap mounts and trim panel are now fitted;

Also fitted the lock and the third brake lamp/number plate lamp and here it is resting in place on the car.

coming on in leaps and bounds .so whats next on the list ,looking forward to it any way

Waiting on parts to arrive from the US then engine & box will go into machine shop.
When they are rebuilt it should start to go together quite fast hopefully.
Been let down badly with rear half shafts, so will need to re-order them so I'm 2 months behind on finishing the rear axle which is a big pain.
-
will be worth it when its done
-
Looking great
You really have been cracking on with it, your build thread has been a joy to follow. [:D]
Can't wait to see what's next ..... :yes:

Not a lot of progress to report form the Easter weekend as the house boiler and the cooker both decided to play up so had to strip & repair both of those first :(
Anywaaay.........
Did get into garage and made up some ally mounts for the seat harness controllers (one per side) which got painted after this pic was taken. Then faffed around chucking a lot of rubbish out of the garage & tidying up so got a cleaner workplace. Also sorted the wiring loom into clearer bunches ready to get the loom extended this week now I have worked out most of the extra circuitry I will be using and what route it will take around the car.
Harness controller on the bracket;

ohhhhh...... i thought when i first read it 'why do the seatbelts have controllers?' but they're 'wiring' harness controllers. :whistle: don't mind me. superb finish you've got there. :)
-
Cheeky! :) (had to re-read my post to check though!)
To explain, the controllers allow the harness to function like a std inertia reel belt on the top 2 belts, but if the power is cut via ign (or a manual switch) they lock up solid like a full harness. They also lock up under accelleration/decelleration/cornering.
-
so i really am that dumb then :yes: i wasn't joking, i thought they were to do with the wiring harness not the 'seat belt' type harness. doh! clever bit of kit fella. :cool:

Well f***, how long since any progress :(
Friend in the USA who was supposed to be helping me ship parts has not shipped any of them after 4 weeks so ****ed off about that, also my half shafts ordered back in December still haven't arrived so ****ed off about that too.
Kinda stuck without these bits and now lost my place at the machine shop too :(
Major mojo killer.
Also finally sold house (tomorrow) so had to spend loads of time emptying and cleaning it for the new owners so just no garage time at present.
I have got my wiring loom professionally extended, and a lovely job they did on it too, spiral wound splices in glued sleeves - very nice and free too :D
A little bit of progress is the bonnet scoop, flatted it down and it's now half way through the polishing stages.

Its really looking good Mark, you must be well pleased with the finish. Hope you don't mind me asking but where did you get the harness controllers ? It sounds like a neat idea
-
Hi Marcel,
Seat harness bits are a package from Safetydevices.com though I'm not sure you can get them from them now?
-
I couldn't find any either, so went for normal retractors on a 3 point harness, they dial in to any angle
