Cheers. Tim W.
Well, true to form it's been a year since I last posted progress. The car's still not on the road yet. Keep finding other things to do.
Pulled out all the servo, master cylinder lines and fittings.
Was a right dogs breakfast. All miss-matched fittings and flares.
Am just in the process of making new lines. Going to use AN3 stainless fittings to replace the cheap and nasties used at present.
Have had fun relocating the servo as now using a duel 7" instead of the original single 7". As usual chassis members got in the way.
Eventually got there, now have a Wilwood alloy master cylinder sitting under the floor. Would have been so much easier with the body off.
Have installed a vacuum pump for the servo as the tunnel ram manifold didn't have enough vacuum to work the brakes properly.
Have replaced the transmission cooler with a more efficient plate and fin design with a fan.
Fitted duel remote oil filters, just trying to fit the oil cooler in.
Its going to have to go behind the rad as there is no room between the grill and radiator core.
We have a new 100A alternator with an alloy pulley set.
On searching around and talking to various It looks like I need a separate fuel supply for the NOS when fitted.
Have added an AN10 supply for the carbs now and using the original AN8 feed for the fuel solenoids.
Have fitted new licence plate holder and incorporated reversing lights and a back up camera as well. (Any one who has tried to reverse a chopped 3 window coupe will know why).
There is probably loads more, will dig out the pics and post them up soon.

Fitted two very bright LEDs for reversing lights and back up camera.
Working on the brakes now.
New ramps have made things easier.

More to come :thumbs_up_smiley:
Well its been a while, six and a bit years in fact! Amazing how time flies.
I last posted here in Oct 16 as I was running a few build threads and it was too much to keep them all going.
My main build thread was over at Torqued Up but the forum is closing at the end of Jan so I'm hoping to transfer the build bit by bit over to this forum if that's OK.
There will be a lot of work involved in re loading pictures etc but I hope you all enjoy the story.
The build thread on TU has had over half a million views so far.
I will leave out any comments/relies from others for privacy's sake.
A lot has happened since my last post :thumbs_up_smiley:
Looking forward to the last 6 years worth of updates.

Off we go...
Attachment 55969
I decided the trans mount handbrake lever was OK in a LHD coupe but mines RH drive so it got in the way.
Its now been relocated under the seat with only the handle sticking out. Just waiting for some new cables to arrive.
Mounted the main fuel regulator and filter on the fire wall. Some cosmetic work to do but I'm going to be driving it this year (2017)
Attachment 55971
Attachment 55970
The fire wall will be done when the engine swap happens (Its all in a big pile in Chicago at present :thumbs_up_smiley:
The Black regulator is for the carbs the Blue one is for the nitrous.
Finally managed to get the duel booster and new master cylinder mounted and plumbed in.
Removed and resprayed the brake pedal, adapted the push rod to fit between the pedal and the booster.
That needed a chapter on its own, but I won't bore you all...
Attachment 55972
Made up all new flex hoses. Stainless fittings and plastic coated braded hose from HEL.
Finished bleeding, all good no leaks.
Attachment 55973
Built a new relay box as there are a lot of power hungry items on the car.
Attachment 55974
Drained down the C6, replaced the filter and fitted the new alloy pan.
Attachment 55975
Now need to make a bottom for the safety loop as its gone missing!!!

Whilst sorting brakes decided to replace rear discs and callipers.
Ordered black painted to match the front ones, anodised black arrived so got sent back...more waiting.
Then just need to change engine oil, fill auto box, re-bleed the brakes and fill up with fuel.
Back on the road, except I need a drivers seat!
(20/02/17)
Mile stone reached this weekend.
Changed engine oil, changed trans oil, added 20lts fuel to new tank.
Primed both fuel pumps......switched ignition on....petrol ****ing out all over engine.
Float needles stuck open! Quick tap with hammer , sorted.
Re-fitted exhaust pipes, opened garage doors, twist key, engine turns over then pop-bang flames three feet high out of both carbs.
Then they sat there looking like two Christmas puddings until flames blown out.
Guess I've got to look at the timing... http://www.torquedup.co.uk/forum/ima...n_bigsmile.gif
Then I had to go out, looks like next weekend now to start her up.
(25/02/17)
So today, a bit more progress.
Rear brakes as was.
Attachment 56001
Removed caliper found alloy bearing retainer....not a regular feature on a Ford 9"
Attachment 56002
Pulled drive shaft and found this. Not a Ford bearing housing.
Attachment 56003
Research has found it to be an Olds/Pontiac unit. Looks like it was welded on when the axle was strengthened. Still uses the "big" Ford size bearing though.
Measured up shafts for 35 spline replacements.
Refitted shaft and modified caliper mounting bracket for new caliper.
Attachment 56004
New alloy caliper weighs in at 2.5lbs instead of 7lbs for the old iron one.
Attachment 56005
New calliper's on.
Attachment 56006
New Green Stuff pads in.
Attachment 56007
Attachment 56008
Interesting handbrake set up. Uses two small pads on a arm linkage independent from the main pads.
Attachment 56009
Did have new rear discs to fit but they have a 65.3mm centre hole. My shafts are Moser items and have a 71.5mm centre.
Now got to find someone with a lathe to open them up to fit.
More to follow http://www.torquedup.co.uk/forum/ima...n_bigsmile.gif
(10/04/17)
After the trials of the last couple of weeks getting the car started.
I was trying to check the plugs, managed to get 6 out OK, then found this on two plugs
http://www.torquedup.co.uk/forum/ima...be1352eec6.jpg
Attachment 56889
Looks like the plugs have never been out of cylinders 4 and 7 as you can't get a plug socket on them unless you drop the headers.
Ordered a carbide cutter for the Dremmel to try and make some clearance.
Think I've said it before... I love old cars

Back from Hols. New suite of Autometer gauges fitted.

On selecting reverse the whole car lurches as the gear engages, is that right?
Have 12ltrs of ATF in there now and full to the mark on the stick.
When selecting drive the same happens.
Also now leaking ATF all over the floor again- looks like a trans rebuild next winter.
(17/06/17)
Still waiting for the new shallow oil pan to arrive.
Decided to change the look of the rod a bit.

Also K&N don't supply the 10" stud to hold it all on.
So have had to order that as well!!!!

The pan I've just replaced had a stone stuck between the cooling fins on the bottom...to close for comfort!
Hope to take the rod to a RWYB later in the year to see how she goes in existing condition.
