Any more news on this one . Planning a Gasser "style" pop build once the current POP build is completed . Always looking for inspiration :)
It’s now complete and painted just changed a few hands
Happy to say this is still alive! I'm hoping to have it out on the track this Summer :)
I?m not a gasser guy but I did like this one, any pics??Quote:

Glad this has resurfaced again. Hopefully will get updated . Im guessing that Russ passed it on before he got the chance to drive It ? If thats the case he must have been gutted as he appeared to have real enthusiasm for this project .
From reading above it sounds as though it passed through a few hands .. Hopefully it survived to see it through Russ's concept . Got to be honest, I never saw nything wrong with it as found :) but i like a bit of a shed find rough and ready old junk.. Its never ceased to amaze me how those old race cars held together , thats not a critical view , Its respect to the fellas that literally nailed them together and lived to tell the tail . Makes the car all that more special to show off its 60s back yard race car engineering and thats what its all about , Pure hot rod .
The new car is a cracker too mind . two seperate worlds as far as build quality , but fundimentaly the same thing , just more refined :)
Looking forward to seeing what It looks like now ..
I dont follow the scene as much these days so appologies if its been cruising around or racing for the last few years .. Always looking for inspiration to keep the juices flowing .. Currently building a POP to 70s spec with 00s stance but with a second pop in the shed and a collection of parts to build along the lines of a gasser its good to see other examples to pinch ideas from .. The planning can take as long as the actual build :)
I would love a Willys Gasser but the cost would be way out of my leauge, however the humble POP has the same heritage, and cheap as chips by comparison . Got a few ideas up my sleeve . But will be a while before I make a start .. It wont be pure gasser, just a nudge to that style but with a heavy british influence .. and a typically tight budget :)
Cheers for now .
Russ sold the car a few years back, it was then finished and painted ready to go, things changed and the engine and box were removed and sold. I've bought it, a box is currently being built at Edge Performance, once thats ready it'll hopefully being going into Tom's for a once over, few changes to suit me then an engine sourced and fired up ready to run this year, I'm hoping to debut it at a show in Surrey May Bank Holiday, followed up by trips to Melbourne and Santa Pod to learn how to drive it and join in the fun with GC!
I'll post photos up soon.
Cheers, Woody
Here's how it looked before the engine n box were removed....isn't she beautiful!
If your on Instagram check out @wickedwitchgasser for progress reposts
Looking good, why's the engine and box out ?
Doh, missed that post, i saw Tom had done the headers do thought it was completed and back out .... onwards !
EDIT. I've obviously seen more on Insta than on here which has confused the issue !
Ah my bad... I've been wwww hunting for build pics to start the IG fresh, so things are a little jumbled in order :)
Great looking car . Pretty sure you will have a ton of fun once its back up and running . :thumbs_up_smiley:
Hopefully I can do a few little bits to help get it to the track where it belongs!
It’s been a long time coming for this car, I actually done the headers before I started the Dorset build so will
be fun to line up next to it
Will do mate!
I’ve got some stuff to upload on my thread from recent just sorting my dodgy phone so I can upload them
