This evening i continued on the lower bulkhead sections.
Driver side required a small brake pedal relief it will never go that far but had to have a little room, neater to do it this way than a big box out the bulk head, also won’t get in the way of the headers.
lucky enough I’ve built a few headers and had a bend kicking about so trimmed it up and welded it in to the fire wall.
some threads added so the celeco can be removed and now bolted to the body.
a few more bits to do and it can be welded together.
Here’s the pics.
Really coming on now Tom, you must be well pleased mate. [emoji106]

That's a nice neat solution.
Cheers Tim, yes moving forward every time I go there trying to keep it moving forward.
Thanks Martin, definitely better than a big box, I was going to flip the bend the other way round so the curv of the pedal literally met the curv of the bend but it was double the work for no gain :thumbs_up_smiley:
The whole build has been great and the little things that make a big difference at the end. Details like that give so many a pointer.
Thanks, I will continue updates as they come! You never know, might do another car after this one!
This evening I got to the workshop for a couple of hours.
First off I sorted some little fixing points for the rear join of the front floor.
I used some small race car window tabs with a small riv nut. Didn’t take any pics but you get the idea.
next back on to the bulk head. Removed, fettled, some primer splashed about in some hard to reach areas.
Lower section now refitted and tacked in!
Last nights update.
bulk head join fully welded now. Migged that together rather than Tig, gently sanded back, not too bad looking jusy didn’t get a pic last night. Engine bay side can just see the heat marks and a few little bits as the gap was pretty good. Nothing a small sand and bit of work won’t sort.
I then had an extra pair of hands and got some harness lower mounts sorted.
Really is looking good Tom, well done mate.[emoji106]

I'm going to the workshop this weekend to do a quality control check. Needs to be done unfortunately.
This weekend I am busy on my normal Sunday at the workshop, I need to go and help out on the super gas/comp roadster I crew with.
With that being said I managed to get over the workshop for an early session, 7.30 and the lights and radio fired up at the workshop, an understanding other half sacrificed a morning with out me. :thumbs_up_smiley:
Moved forward with some small cuts on the chop saw making some tabs for the battery tray to bolt too, M8 threads in these with a few tack welds too. Also a small mod to the tray adding some tabs to bolt it down but also working as a spacer to raise above the floor beads.
Then on to the fire extinguisher mounting threads
After that, some extra tabs welded on to the central tube work to hold the floor, drilled out a tad to take M5 riv nut, chassis holes threaded to m5 also where needed.
Andy Chilton battery box and window tabs used on the bits today.
Also a little pic of the bulkhead after a slight sand back of the welds.
I then had a nose about on some other bits like rad mounts and engine stabilisers, to go home and have a think about them bits and gather the next parts for assembly
over to the pics, and the QC from John lol
Really coming on well Tom, I'm quite sure it got through John's QC with flying colours mate. [emoji106]

Thanks Tim, John !
Tonight a small progress session again as had to get home. Driver side tabs and chassis threads similar to Saturday.
It had to be done so progress continues
Chilly work this evening, an extra that had been on my mind for a while a little brace to the chassis from the ladder bar bracket. Probably over kill but worth the time to make me feel better?
more progress soon.
no arguments here tom, i kept doing that with my anglia cage. we used seven 6m lengths of tubing in that little car!
neil.
Surprising how much tube can go in mate, dread to think how much a full tube unlimited chassis would have, then again… in moly ouch that would cost some
It's better to add another bit now, than to be trapped in there wishing it had been stronger Tom. [emoji106]

That’s what I thought Tim.
tonights progress was a start on the small section that would be ‘between the seats’
I’ve cut and fitted some flat steel to eye it up a bump in this will be added for prop clearance soon.
I have used the same metal as on the bulk head and tubs here rather than the thin floor, it’s going to help clamp the floor on these edges where the bead rolling as caused some distortion.
