One is a bit tight - needs about 1-2mm ideally, the other seems miles away???
Not a huge problem as the lower wing Dzus will hold the front down - I expect the welting will flatten down after a while. If not I'll have to take it off & fit something a bit flatter.
A couple of bits arrived today, alternator belt which I had finally measured correctly & ordered and en extension for my oil pressure gauge/switch which was fouling on the inlet manifold before it was tight.
Thanks to a man called Jerry Witts who came up trumps with an offer of a free extension as I could not find one for sale easily in the UK. Many thanks Jerry :thumbs_up_smiley:
Both already fitted before dinner :)
A good evening tonight, firewall bolted in for keeps and lots of little jobs finished off. Also found out the tight spot on the drivers door is the restraining bar bracket hitting the hole in the door - simple fix to open the hole up a bit.
Made the flip front Dzus fit by removing some of the welting again and taking out the 2 ribs inside it, taped it back on and its still tight on one Dzus but it should flatten down in time I think.
More progress today, polishing bolts before fitting. About 100 bolts!
roof console & firewall fully bolted in and the tight spot on the drivers door was where it was jamming on the sill http://images.proboards.com/v5/smiley/sad.png stripped all the A post open again & raised door up 2mm and it shuts much nicer now http://images.proboards.com/v5/smiley/smiley.png just a little bit of touching in to do.
Started going through some of the other little jobs, need to check all fuel unions are tight and also the same for the brakes, but fire up may only be days away:D
It's getting there :)
Cheers Bri, was going to bolt in the fuel tank today - but that led on to fitting the handbrake (which works really well) and fitting nylocs to all the rear suspension till I ran out of them. I then got a lot of parts out of the loft & spent the rest of the day flatting & polishing all the boot panels and also the fuel tank.
Nice progress Mark, good luck with the fire up mate.
Cheers. Tim W.
Hi Mark,
Great to hear that your getting the paint issues resolved, and doing a fair bit of finishing off jobs, good luck with the fire up and don't forget the video,
Not long now,
Cheers,
Mike C.
Cheers Mike,

looking good son ,you must be nearly there , good work ,lots of fun to come
very nice mark looking a treat tanks in so come on lets get her running all the best with that
Tanks been in for ages, lol.
Should be soon but you might have to wait as I'm in scotland next week.
Not much to report as been on hols to Scotland last week.
Since I've got back I have now finished the steering & sorted the indicators cancelling correctly.
Blown in some paintwork on the underfloor brakes cover where I had chipped it & touched in a couple of chips on the body.
I finished the exhaust on the drivers side tonight, then let the door swing open - not fitted the check strap as yet - doors now hit the exhausts so its exhausts 1, paintwork nil :(
Lucky the doors aren't polished yet  more bits to blow in :(
Done quite a few other small jobs too, std stuff - tightening bolts up for good, finishing trim bits etc.
I'm a bit surprised with the Edelbrock carb - it has no throttle return spring fitted, not even a light one, so I could do with photos of anyone's setup if they have an Edelbrock to see the best way of fitting and also what type of spring I need.
Here's one I recently posted of Gerry's set up I posted recently, mine is similar with the spring going forward

Thanks John, can you post a photo of your one too please?
So, some forward and backward progress then Mark. Still a few bits ticked off mate.
Cheers. Tim W.
Cheers Tim/John.
John, what did you fix the spring to on the block?
Little tab of the rocker cover hold down bolt
