Had a play in the garage tonight, got all the exhausts finished and made some plates from 5mm ally bar for the door strap stoppers.
After that I sorted a spring that I had at work as a sample and fitted it to the carb, seems to work well but might be a little stiff but then I prefer a stiff throttle pedal.

That spring does look a little on the strong side Mark - think you'll have an aching foot/ankle after driving with that any distance.
Mark you will soon tire of that spring setup, as Ian said it looks strong, the twin spring setup works much better, I will see if I have a pic of mine.
Don't have a pic of mine but these are the springs & bracket I would use

I'll have a look into it further guys, at least it's safe for fire up now.
Still moving in the right direction Mark, headers look well mate.

Plodding on through the little jobs, a bit warm in the garage at present!
Front suspension now fitted with rubber boots on all rose joints and nylocs fitted throughout, radiator hoses fitted properly, thermostat fitted & sealed, radiator bottom tank painted (forgot that bit!) and heater fitted with acorn nuts. Just need to make the short hoses to the heater rad and it can be filled with water.
I got the proper throttle springs and made a new fixing plate from polished ally to fit them to as the supplied hardware did not fit at all  Funnily enough these are stiffer than the first spring I fitted

Then got the inner wings down from the loft, first part fitted here - back half still to be fitted. That makes the plugs nice & hard to get to, lol!

Getting there Mark, could you not leave those inner wings off while starting as it would make access much easier for fiddling.
Cheers guys - I could Steve, though I have to loosen the brake hose to fit them.
Hopefully wont need to get to that part of the motor when it starts!
A bit less progress recently as we just bought a trailer tent - result as Cat now is looking forward to Supernats rather than hating camping - cool :)
This has needed a bit of TLC to get it up to our standards.
Had a bit of a disaster a couple of nights ago - was clicking the motor over to TDC as need to remove the dizzy and accidently left the ignition on for 24 hours! one extremely dead Optima battery and hopefully no harm done to my MSD 6AL?
Battery went on trickle charge tonight 7v start - now at 11.6v. Spoke to a supplier today who specialises in batteries and he thinks it should be ok if battery stays cool on charging (it has) but it will need several days to come up again. I'll need to check with MSD about any possible damage.
Apart from that it's been doing the little jobs, rear wings now have wing piping fitted, fuel system is ready for fuel to go in, inlet manifold bolts now have ARP thread sealer on them, stat fitted & hoses all fitted - just need 4 stainless jubillee clips (on order) and water can go in engine.
Then I can set the timing and as long as battery is ok and MSD is working I can fire it up at last.
Meanwhile some more visible progress, floor panel can go in - big scratch suffered in storage so that will need flatting out :( and trim panels fitted so I can hopefully get the trim ordered for collection at the Supernats.

looking great Mark, what did you use for door panels? they look pretty sturdy.
Hi Davy, all panels are 3mm ally - did not want them to bend lol!
must be that 'paint n grain' stuff steve, or fablon
Seems to be moving in the right direction Mark, floor looks well mate, good luck with that battery.
