Cheers ,
Lots of fun was had. Yep great to meet you and chat mate.
yeah Neil. It?s always worth it. Didn?t give up this weekend. Many people probably would have!!
Was fun having a run at dusk! Didn?t plug the front lights in as didn?t think we would be waiting that long!
just a shame it was a little loose past the 1/8.
Cracking pic !!

Definitely one cool picture
Lovely picture, looks like one of Ian Guys paintings.....
We?re not going to get back out untill the season starts again. For 1, time I have A car in that I need to get on with and one waiting to come in. I also would like to get my gmc running and make some changes to the Austin.
So for now it?s parked up and fogit spray applied to try and protect the insides over the winter. I?ll most likely drain the block to be safe on Any coolant issues as we?ve had some super cold winters havent we!
Debelopment in place it just has to wait its turn!
Good idea dude.
My mate Drew has given me something to do over winter.
As the converter is probably going to be a lot looser next year to gain some more RPM on launch I decided to get a mid plate in it to tie this point in to the chassis, and makes it easier to whip the box out if the converter isn?t quite right or we need to pull it out again.
Every now and then I have to take a little look in side again and remember the hard work that some great friends helped me with. Look at that flake.
I?ve been really busy and will post some pics of the latest stuff I?ve done on my other thread.
I need to find some time for the Pressure machine too
The Holy Grail of carbs is on its way for the Austin.
I got lucky with this one as a good friend wanted to help me out with it.
ooh, that's pretty :thumbs_up_smiley:
neil.
Nice :thumbsup2:
Thats a very tasty carb, twin blade?
Fantastic engineering.
G
It?s the 4 barrel version, twin blade is a great idea but it gives you some slightly limiting factors on other uses like throttle stop racing and things like that.
Both Great bits of kit.
I have been around TMC for years and always wanted one myself, Tony had helped me tune the super comp dragster I drove many years ago.
lucky enough a friend wanted me to have one too.
This sucker will be supplying fuel to it now. With the blue top being on the edge of the power limit really and it feeding all the way from the rear appose to the front where it used to be on the pop, so to keep the demand there with out any doubt this has plenty of ?reserve?
This runs a by pass return so I can almost keep my first idea of a return system, this one bypasses at the pump so I can loose the return line down the chassis now and just re run a bigger fuel line to the regulator ect.
some mods needed but all for the better and to try and gain this car to be the best it can be.
holy cow, that carb is a serious work of art, the fuel pump looks a bit of kit too, nice upgrades :thumbs_up_smiley:
Gear box out. Old fuel system out.
motor plate installed - small tweak to be made.
Dummy box installed.
Breather hole in gearbox tapped to 1/8npt. Then dropped the tap and if fell down the dipstick hole!!! Fished out with magnet. Party on.
new -10 fuel line along chassis has been started
New -10 fittings bolted in chassis for hard pipe to connect too.
Pump positioned need to make mounts and flexy lines
Lots more to do aswell like get the actual box in with converter and measure what spacer I need from the flex plate and length of bolts. Slot the holes in the cross member to allow the slightly moved back gear box now it has the mid plate.
hopefully everything stayed straight in the chassis when adding the mid plate if anything moved too much we will soon find out and will just have to make some alterations.
Great work Tom, thanks for making the effort to get stuff posted :thumbs_up_smiley:
Onwards and upwards...
Great stuff. See you at the track no doubt.
