Gotta be my all time favourite factory 'Kustom'. I've owned both Classic's and a Capri and just love to see em modified. Here's a stock one for starters.

i remember your consul capri well dave. you did so much work on it i thought that you would never sell it. it looked much better in the ford monaco red with those big white walls thta you did it in bruv. cant think why he changed the colour to silver.
Here's a few, but what about the Classic?
Bob.
Let's add the Classic as well. I guess the van is photoshopped, but nice all the same.
Bob.
I`ve had a number of these over the years, was a member of the owners club way back in `75.
Kevs high rise was a great inpiration
I`ve got some piccys from those days somewhere but no scanner. So,if interested I can post the piccys onto someone who"ll put `em up as long as I get them back.

This was a car of its time built by Mark Battye .I did the engine rebuilt to 'half race' spec and Southern Car Trimmers did the roof. Later the new owner had the padded roof removed ,V6 fitted and sprayed in a pink pearl and there it sat for at least 15 yeras to my knowledge:(

This one is still down at South Coast Kustoms, owner ran out of money. I'm sure it could be bought.
http://usera.imagecave.com/klassicda...custom%203.jpg
My girlfriend's Capri from a few years back. Tuned 1500, lowered, Lotus steels, red European indicator lenses and a custom leather interior. She still regrets getting rid of it.
http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47b7...D720/ry%3D480/
This one still in this area somewhere, was struggling to get a MOT without door handles due to the owner not understanding what to do. Later appeared for sale for about £4000 ,still without MOT .
Originally found by Mike Battye, sold to Kev Reilander who sold it to Simon Bishop. I had input into the design of the convertible conversion,it was STRONG!!
Originally powered by a GT 1300cc and auto later upgraded to Pinto and auto after the conversion was developed by Steve Mills.

This looks like the never welded column change, bench seat , one we bought from Steve Loder ( the one he was saving). Made one good stage 2 engine from the 2 in the boot , remade all the parts from the column changes and recommisioned it. My mate sold it later back to Steve who had asked for first refusal. Taff ended with it and I believe it now resides in a private collection somewhere.

Steve Smith, ex Jagos foremans ,Capri pick up, the one with sequential rear lights. He was pulling a V4 and fitting a 1500, I was pulling a 1500 and fitting a V4 ,basically swapped running gear from each others cars .

Mike Warehams (of South Coast Kustoms as shown above ) long term owned Classic, think he's had it for about 15 years now . Shown in it's latest guise at Hayling just prior to its CC feature.

I do like those wire wheels on a Capri.
No, actually, I think I would like some of those wheels.

Gotta agree with you on that Austin 10. Just love the paint division - ala A55 Cambridge in style.
This was my first cool motor. Bought off a guy down Reading way.
I lowered it, set the headlamps back and put the number plate back deep in the grille opening. This is the only pic that does not show the dreadful paint shade mismatch on the glass front wings.

I had a red one I bought cheap off a mate, and sold it to another mate later, and a blue one I bought off Al Stevens. I also had a blue and white 4 door Classic.
Mart.
Just found another on the web. It looks to be the Owl having some major reworking done to it !!!

Plus I've owned another 3 4 door Classisc as daillies along with a 1500GT Capri, even owned just a roof at one stage .
Every time we get the photos out Marian says we've got to get another one. I do have a couple of plans for a different approach.
Just a roof? How about a bed? (Which is where I am just going, Saga Rodders need sleep))

Will post a couple of pics of mine tomorrow.

Been trying to find a pic of Trevor Springall's Capri, the one with the P406 lights. As a Capri lover as well, I really like that car. Pics of my one on my cars link.

Such a cool looking car!
How many were built?
Here is the one I sold in 2007 , California car now in the hands of an ex Brit in New York, was a great car with red flake roof .
Just on 18,000 with 6,000 going abroad, about 2000 went to Italy as I've spoken to the owners club over there . Only 2002 GT models made and the last 500 Capris made in 1964 were all GT's.
Approx 118,000 Classics made . In actual fact the 2 door Classic is rarer than the Capri.
Mike , LOVE the new dash ,you just keep on improving it;) :)
I give in, what IS that ?
http://www.e-britain.co.uk/dragaddict/images/bpo3.jpg
There was a thread over in the Discussion forum about Consul Capris a while ago which had some great pictures, it can be found here http://www.nsra.org.uk/newforum/showthread.php?t=7669
I love these cars, here are a couple of pics that I have:
This is Jon Pastor's Capri at the 1979 Nats:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...onpastor79.jpg
..and a rather faded pic of its trophy winning interior:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...interior79.jpg
My old nail:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o...pig/5444ru.jpg
And not a single pic of "lil red rooster" that used to cruise the streets of tulse hill '76 to '81
About 10 known to the Italian club, so few that they are part of the later Capri club. It's the 2 door Classics that are rarer than Capris , only something like 6000 made , so the other 112,000 were all 4 doors.
The rarest of the rare are the Base model 2 door cCssic, only 2 known to exist still. They are rarer than even the 'legendary' Hooper Capri which were a big disappointment to me when I saw one in the flesh.:(
The British club have records on about 500 Capris left known to them.
It was the affordable (to me ) Impala Coupe style that drew me to them all those years back.
Mine, owned her for 27 years sold last April. Blub

<<<<< The ex-Jon Pastor one is being worked on. Progress is slow, but there is progress. Hope to have it back on the road this summer.
another one....... http://www.timetraveldvds.co.uk/gall.../target13.html
Just reading through this thread and also the one mentioned on page 6. This pick up was done by Alan Cox from Farnham at the time. The head room was so limited that they made the roof detachable! The rear lights weren't sequential as suggested on the other thread but were 4 red lights all wired up as rear lights 2 outside ones wired as brake lights as well and the inside ones flashed as indicators as well as being sidelights, all had blue dots, it looked the b****cks but the police didn't seem to like it!!
Loved it...originally green withflames, then yellow- finally black- love to know what happened to it? Registered as 325 LNX anyone?? Still about according to DVLA...:D
Stunning shape cars... lovely!
Does anybody know the whareabouts of 927 FGW a 1500GT . When i sold her she was white with a black roof.
It was Steve Smiths pick up that had sequential rear lights, worked from a wiper motor!!
Shown below

Bob Lackersteins 'Lowrider' ( as described by Hot Car ).
When I was in the owners club some years ago, there was a for sale advert in the owners mag of a home brewed Classic estate with woody panels on which sounded very intriguing. Hmm, I wonder if there is a pic out there somewhere????????????????????????????????????????? ???????

Here's my brothers Consul Capri. He has a choice of wheels depending on his mood or what kind of show he's going to.

Here some i found somewhere, think it was nicks time travel site, keep up the good work nick.......
Steve Gingles is still in his garage after taking it off the road for a big block transplant, can find any pix of it tho
