Found the pics, so here we go, again we are just down the road from southend back at gilsted hall, brentwood, the date i have wrote on the back of the pics is the 14th of july 85, which is very similar to the 84 date, to be honest i am not 100% on this date, they may have both even been the same show on both days as i may have gone twice with dad, but i cant seem to get a match between the 2 sets of pics & the cars all look mainly different!!, these pics were taken with a borrowed 35mm camera, if i remember rightly i mucked the film up & lost a load of the pictures, but theres still a load to view.
cant tell you much about the cars apart from obviously bobs y, & rogers vette is lurking in picture 3........stay tuned viewers!!
& more...agaiin cant tell you much about these cars, but i think thats rogers marina van in the background of picture 2 & i think that Z car was a harris one, & notice the similarity of the registration number on the blue pop, bobs y was/is dhx 248 !, more pics coming up shortly including one with the z car reg on...
& more...whos that chatting around the Z car, i think extreme right could beIan Walker, if you look in the background of pic 2 you can see bobs hobart washing machine repair van, I think the dark blue Escort van? says Glass Beading on it?, & finally we have bobs Y in another stunning pose...
Took all these from Dads Marina I was in, the 34 was at the top of the ongar road by those hideous roundabouts, looks like they had stopped to check out the state agents window, cant remember if it at the show so i presume he was on his way there, love this pic although i have doctored it, just like the next one, I think it would be a challenge to get a picture of that road nowadays at that time of ay with so few cars on it!!, finally the Dodge? was spotted coming into the brentwood town centre by the cricket ground, presumably another latecomer......
that concludes all my pictures of Balls....
the clock is ticking.....

The blue 57 was my late husbands Paul Craven and your right it was at Brentwood, I think the black Mustang convert next to it belonged at that time to Ian Wilton, another Colchester guy ,he got sensible after that and bought at Tri!! a 57 actually and still owns it today!! Thanks for the memories!! Val x
