Flattop, I get the feeling that you have a soft spot for Ford Pops!!!
Looks cool, I would have said it was '90 not '91, as they didn't go down to Fistral in '91...!!!
Some of the photo's are Carlyon Bay, near St Austell and some are Fistral Beach at Newquay, possibly different years or lot's of cruising. Those were the best years now it's a party/rave weekend and the cars take second place.
Cornish men do it DRECKLY!!
great pics mike I love pics of old pops
Hi Steven,
Thanks for your observation , however,
I "sit up and beg" to differ on the location. All of the pics are indeed Newquay. They are 90 / 91. I know because I was there, and I took the pics, and my Pop has never (in my ownership anyway, over twenty years) seen Carlyon bay, I on the other hand have, and it is a very nice place.
You are correct about those days being the best though, I agree totally.
Cheers,
Mike C.
My mistake, if i remember right i have those same car's and lots more stashed somewhere. We used to sit in the 'Port and Starboard' chip shop in Fraddon (before the by pass was built) and take pic's of the cars stopping to take the Newquay turning. Great memory's and car's!

I wonder how many know that the Run to the Sun was based on the old Southern Roadsters / Surrey Street Rodders Skewjack holidays. Keith Seume was editor of CC when it all started but used to be a regular in the Skewjack days.

Hi to all,
I have to say a public appology for doubting blue32 Steven, and hotrodtom Tom, local knowledge.
I was convinced that some of my pics where at Newquay instead of Carlyon Bay, however I was wrong, and for this I appologise.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention guys.
I'll try harder in the future.
Cheers,
Mike C.
Nice to see some old photos of my old Pop after I sold it.
Sold it at Glasgow show to a guy from Southend he then sold it on, Spotted it a year later for sale at the Nats not been seen since,
Any info ?
