    Any info ?
Your Pop looked very similer to Geoff Owens V6 powered one that he had in the early 90s--chop,yellow paint, rear archs cut away, but he had that one for along time so couldant have been this one.
What running gear did yours have?

That's my claim to fame anyway !!!!!!!!!!!

It's good to see that you are paying attention though

    Cheers,

I am on the '91 video too, I was in the Grumpy's Toy pop, with the snorkel scoop, flip front, full width Jag back end gasser stylie...!!!

Poppin wheelies on the cruise, and getting a tug from the old bill for doing a 'launch' from outside a chippy near the train station, on open headers...!!!

    Ooops...!!!

Slept in the damn thing too, as I had limited funds for camping, and spent the all on the fuel to get there (hi-po 302 with a tunnel ram and twin carbs...!!!) slept in the Headlands carpark, as a mate was staying there...!!!

Took some chaps missus out for a spin in it, from the pub at the top of the hill (???) and scaring the living pooh out of her, he was gonna buy it for her, but I never saw them again...!!!

Good times they were, '91 was my last in a car, had been going since '88 but in them rear engined stuff...

Went again about 8 years ago, and it didn't feel 'right'...

    More pics please!!!!

    Hi Guy,
Looked at the video just the other week, and you and your Pop feature quite a few times as well as you say, the sound equipement struggled with your open headers in the car park with loads of dust also, way to go,

Sounds like you where having fun, wouldn't be right if you hadn't shown what the Pop could do

Good memories I slept in the smallest, of small borrowed tent, when we woke in the morning the wet and very soggy tent was the first thing I felt luvvley,

Some people ain't mean't to have fast cars

Your not wrong they where great times, I did the same as you a few years back and I wasn't in my Pop and it wasn't the same. Will go again when I'm back on the street though.

I'll have a sort through my pics soon I think Iv'e got some more stashed away.

    Cheers,
    Mike C.

    Hi Matt,
True enough, I have a plan, but I've just got to get my Pop back on the street first.

    Cheers,

'91 was the last year I went down. Went in a lowered & primed mk1 Triumph 2000. got as far as Gordano services & the autobox decided to dump its transmission fluid all over the road..... Got relayed home & made it back down (in a Metro!!!!) by about 9.00pm. I remember a red Vauxhall Victor running up the arse of something modern in town, the Vauxhall was unmarked & the other car was trashed!!

    Good times.

Mike, I can tell you it weren't fun trying to get comfy whilst being wrapped around a roll cage, the missus at the time had the front buckets...

The next night wasn't too bad, as my mate had to come down in the mid '70s F150 we were doing for someone, and we slept in the 'bed of that...!!!

He bust his half shalfts on his 100e in the same service station as Gary...!!!???

I only bought the video the other year, I knew I had been filmed but had never seen it, was quite taken aback at how I looked...

    Yup, thats me...

On the Grumpys7 pic, thats my bug just before the roof came off, and Satans Pawn too...!!!

Was it a Q when you had it, because I don't remember it being one when I was driving it around...!!!

I have two pics, but they are pretty crap, not really worth sticking them up (again...!!!)...

    Where is Grumpy now???

  16. #36
it was OPO 836 but as it went to a ford main dealer they tried to make some money from the plate before i got it and ****ed it all up so it was given a "Q" !!!!! it was in the very first outlaw anglias and terry hughs bought it from me and he painted it yellow and changed the reg to PYH 213 .
he then sold it to build "hill billys hog wild" pop and grumpys toy has never been since !!!!!!!
it would be great to see if anyone knows were PYH 213 is now ????

Long Marston became Avon Park International Raceway in 1989 before morphing into Shakespeare County Raceway a few years later.
