And some more... The green Victor was originally built by John Newins and was owned by Bob Hider at this time. A year later I owned it for 18 months or so. I recall that the Jag powered Mini belonged to a garage on the A47 not far from Leicester and the Black Victor estate was Roger Warrens and later became Sweet FA in the hands of Les Howlett.

Ken Stamp in his yellow 32 truck,which is still running on the road today with a different owner,in different colours but much the same.
'Carousel' Ford Pop KRX371 i think it was this one that was bought by a guy in Wolverhampton early eighties and slipped off the scene,i heard talk that it may still exist.
And Bob Rothwell's Model Y.
Recognise the others but don't know the owners or history.
Interesting that though it was 1978,the customised Mk3 Cortina,Capri,and Avenger (behind the black Standard)were relativity new cars back then to modify.
The long T was from Corby, can't remember the guy's name.
The green Victor could have been Dave Drivers but not sure.

The long T did indeed come from Corby and it was also featured in Custom Car. The WVR shows were very good. I went to quite few in the late 70's and early 80's -shame I didn't take any photos.
Green Victor
Dave Driver's Victor is a 61 model, (tall back window) however he did own 666VML for a short while and put it back to restored condition before selling it on. The last I heard it had moved to the Isle of Wight?Originally Posted by Morris460

That's an early shot of Ken's truck Ian, pre the 'weed burner' headers that came via Terry Sands at Muscle City.
The T was owned by Ian and Sandra Loveday, though always entered in shows in Sandra's name. Unfortunately it disappeared after their marriage broke up, didn't see them or the car again. Always wondered what happened to it. Flathead powered too.
The CF van is Pete Howe's 'Fascination', after this he started a '30's 4-dr rod project, he sold it unfinished to Ginner who painted it blue and I believe still owns it.

I found this thread while googling the registration numbers of all my vehicles, the ones that turned up were photos of my Mustang, Morris Traveller, and my Ford Pop, the one mentioned in this thread Carousel KRX 371, I bought this car unfinished in the early 80s I was living in Manchester at the time, I almost finished the car just needing small amount of Upholstery to complete.
I used the car on a regular basis, I took it off the road in late 80s/early 90s due to the car getting vandalised, I moved to North Wales in 1998 along with "Carousel" and 22 other cars and motorbikes. I was considering selling the car, but my new wife won`t let it go as she wants to re-build (she is a qualified mechanic), I have a Rover V8 to go in as the V6 Essex is very heavy.

Hi People. My name is Bill Wittkopp and I was the first Chairman of the WVR. Yes I'm still about!! Rebuilding a '32 'B' Tudor at the moment which should be completed in a couple of weeks time.

Hi. We ran the Welland Valley Roadsters Poker Run from Casterton Motel near Stamford
originally but later moved to Casterton College which was just down the road and had
far more room.
It was one of the largest runs of the year and was always well attended. It was
held around mid-summers day to take advantage of the long days and warmer weather.
Sunday morning was started with a 'cowboy breakfast' of bangers,beans etc. before
the run around the local roads choosing a card at several locations (if you could find it
from the cryptic clues given to each car) and the best hand of Poker won a prize at
the Show-n-Shine later on the Stamford Meadows.
