Cold temps no good for getting a second coat of epoxy on. So a bit of sheathing on the overhead wires and a fresh new rad from Collin Reay at creative aluminium fabrications so i can access the rad cap through the bonnet and a decent coat of paint on the manifolds from Maldon shotblasters ... just got too shift the flu now Name: 20250208_154941.jpeg

Collin did the original rad and run it for 7 years with no issue cooling the LS so no point in going anywhere else for another one !

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.

Colin hates it when one of his radiators are painted, but has to be done, seeing anything other than black through a grille should be illegal

Ian i found that when the stainless bar grills i made for the nose section on the flip front were viewed from the front they were almost unnoticeable, i've only painted the front i too look them shiney !

I guess I didn't type that how I meant it,dark or black behind grille bars is what should have put,my grille 'V' bars are now stainless originals now instead of being black since 1981.
Yeah,I only painted the front of my radiator.

Got to ask you about your fan shroud John.
Did you have it on your last radiator.
Have you ran it with and without before.
If so did it improve stationary idling in traffic temperature's.
How much did it affect high speed cooling.(I noticed the rubber flap for this) My experience of Colin's rads is that they seem to have excess cooling capacity at high speed that can be sacrificed.
It's seems like there's not much gap behind it,is it still effective, obviously we don't have much room in pops for bigger gaps.

Seems like more questions than I expected to type

It's the same set up with the rad cap moved back so i can fill from the bonnet, not flip the front, in years too come it might be more useful
The LS runs hotter than most other chevys, 210f they are quite happy with, and the fan has always been adequate for it, luck than judgement
The flap does work too a fashion, i've opted for a slightly lighter one to see if it makes any difference
