Ali welding needed? Great fun, once you get the hang of it, if you've got the gear to do it!

Rose joints fitted with fresh boots. I remembered where Brizey said to get them. And the cage is out after cutting and using a connector on a brace. Hate welding in a trimmed car !Name: 20250110_145820.jpeg

The dreaded roof joint, the bane of most Pop owners.

They look (or one of them certainly does) look like the better of the "all talk" starters.
Hitachi ? Even when one of those fail it's tempting to add an 'S' to the beginning.

Edit: just thought,it could be the original GM starter to that engine.

Original GM scruffy one and new Remy. Although it worked it's not as heavy duty as the original

I'm so glad I had mine media blasted inside & out. Mine is painted the same on the inside as it is on the outside so hopefully rust won't ever rear it's head in my lifetime.

Neil Young said Rust Never Sleeps. Sorry about that, don't let that thought keep you awake at night. The Rocking in a free world might though!

Well the ''progress'' has come too an abrupt stop the drivers side which has no rust marks on the roof has major rust on the inside. The yellow marks indicates no steel and a few other bits too.
So a new plan on replacement will be formulated. There was some pics in the gallery where someone had cut it out and replaced it. Does anyone have them ? Name: 20250118_162419.jpeg

Booger! No steel? Ie holes? What are the repair options? I suppose the question has to be how long does it have to last.

I'd have thought recreating gutter sections could be a challenge if that was to be required.
