A bit of progress on my car for a change!

I bought an oil cooler a few weeks back but I've only just had time to make a start on fitting it. These are the MkII brackets (MkI just visible in background) I got these made at work

For the front support I bought some 6mm rod ends and fitted them into a bit of 8mm OD tube.

The tube has the nuts welded in and ground circular, fitting kit completed here apart from the 'T' bracket that will need to be welded at work on Monday.
I'll get them powder coated next week. Not visible, there are 2 rubber bobbins on the bottom mount.

Trail fitted in the car - hoses will need to be ordered as soon as I get time to go over to Think Automotive.

A 6" stretch in wheelbase would sort it....

Bits came back from the powder coaters today, nice all parts look good.

And assembled to the cooler. The nuts have been painted so once it's dry it can be assembled to the car.

Just need to go shopping for the fittings and oil lines when I have time.

Time to fix the damage to the front end.
The front is removed and propped up for repairs.

Easy access for work on the engine

The tape bits are marking all the areas where there are stone chips.

I forgot to take photos of the repairs, but I'm not finished yet so I'll add some now.

With the paint scuffed back lightly I painted in some black paint. it's been flatted off here with 400 grit wet n dry as this is the third bit of touching in on this chip.

I will need to spray one part as I've broken through to the primer here.

These were the really deep chips from the brick or whatever it was that hit it. They are mostly filled in here, hopefully the last touch in.

The dull area is where some of the other chips have been flatted back with 2500 wet n dry ready for polishing.

And the same dull area after the first coarse cut with the polishing mop.

Almost done, all new paint flatted back to 2500 grit, (I've run out of 3000)

One little dip still left to fill

Blown in section flatted off as well.

I started polishing some of this area which was going really well......right up to the point where it cut through to the primer again not the same place, a bit further along. This is an area of a previous repair and the paint is not as thick as the rest of the front.

Ho hum, just have to paint it again.

Even with the front off, you call that easy access. You must bendy arms.
Small block 350 Chevy at last! Yep shoulda done it sooner.

Gotta have fun in my old age even if I am a grumpy ol git.

Rear plugs are a little tight, but I did build most of it to be easy to work on.
