    Wink Checkered Demon Gasser

As you may be aware I am building an Austin Gasser to 1961 NHRA rules, when the Gasser class was for stock, road legal cars with limited modifications. It is a (mostly) rolling restoration as I like to keep driving him on the street.

We covered 1500 miles from Dragstalgia in July 2012 until the end of the year and have made many modifications since then.

So more of you can have a laugh, I have over Xmas converted my web site - www.checkereddemon.co.uk from Silverlight to HTML5, which means you can now view it without a plug-in on Google Chrome (the best) Internet Explorer 9, I-Pad and Android although the video doesn't seem to work on the latter. You will have to be a bit patient on slower connections. I keep the site current, so keep having a look at the News tab.

The plan is to hopefully join you guys at a couple of events this year to see what she will do in the quarter mile.

    Have a great 2013!

    Phil

Glad you enjoyed your day out at BRM day, they all drove past my sons house in Bourne. Missed it at ( what looks like ) dragstalgia too. Will look out for it this year.
Debating what to do with my tired Devon pickup, would love to build a gasser and join the "circus" I have some parts including a blown pontiac motor, but need something I can afford to use every day.
Cheers, heres to a some roadster weather this summer.

    A40 Pickup

    Hi Simon,

The Pickup looks great and would make a super Gasser. I walk to work so I can use the Checkered Demon most weekends. I also have a Royal Enfield motor cycle with fuel injection and digital electronic ignition that does nearly 80mpg! I should be at the regular Norfolk shows this year as well as Dragstalgia etc. It would be great to see the pickup at the Norfolk Street Cruisers meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Railway PH in Wymondham.

    cheers!

    Phil

the circus is bracket racing so you can still compete and have fun without having a gas guzzler. go on get a straight tube front under it, you know you want to.

    Another Norfolk Gasser

Phil was kind enough to take me on last years Nats cruise in the Devon. What a great car, even sitting in traffic was a pleasure with that lovely lolloping V8 sound.

Fellow club member Pete with the Marmite "Norfolk'N'Good' Morris 14 has just bought a '53 Ford project (Originally a Skyliner) which sits tall with a Transit front and a Chevy 454. Should be good when done and if it's like his usual style will include elements to offend most varieties of purist.

    Cheers, Bob.
