Can't believe how time flies...
Still no further forward on the headers as we decided to redo the front fence and gates and the side drive has been a workshop for the past 6 weeks.
Whilst I was not able to get the car out though I thought I might make some changes...again
Out with the old...
In with something entirely different
There was a hole to drill for an oxygen senor
This is a temp situation until the new headers are made. They will have a proper boss welded in place.
The WOT switch for the nitrous now need moving
I had to carefully make another hole in the ally firewall for all the new wires required (only 6 but there were some big moulded on plugs that needed to go through for the configuration screen).
Attachment 56324
Got a proper nest of cables down there now as I can't shorten any of the pre-made harnesses
Almost done. Just waiting for the new fuel connectors to arrive.
The stud that holds the air filters is a larger thread (5/16" instead of the Edelbrock1/4") so had to order some.
Why is nothing ever the same![]()

The new throttle body fitting finally arrived after a 14 day delay!
Many thanks Royal Mail
Got all the new lines made and installed. Only -2 degrees in the garage today.
Then as always one thing lead to another and I realised that the fuel pressure regulator gauge only went up to 15PSI.
The Fitech EFI needs around 58PSI to work correctly.
I have a Fuelab EFI pump in line regulated down to 5PSI for the old Edelbrocks.
Now had to order a whole load more plumbing so I can remove the Fuelab low pressure regulator and use the inbuilt reg in the throttle bodies.
The tank return line has to come off the throttle body rather than the regulator as before.
Hopefully not another 14 days....

Just tidying up before lights out...
After a few more delays and more parts needed as designs changed....
The old regulator was removed and a new fuel pressure gauge installed now got the full 60psi fuel pressure required.
There were various changes made to the plumbing as I now need return flows from each throttle body.
Set up an initial configuration on the touchscreen.
Switched everything on and fired her up.
It took a while to get going (sorry no video as I was by myself).
Started running very lumpy, this was due to a vacuum leak in the PCV hose I'd installed earlier. A couple of jubilee clips sorted that.
Then to finish...
Some big new balls
A customer of mine was removing some old wardrobe doors and I just had to have them...
There is still a load of stuff to do so I'm going to try and rebuild this thread on the NSRA forum for anyone interested in following.
It's been fun, see you soon.

Hi All
The thread transfer is complete so I will be updating this thread now as I go forward.

Really enjoying this thread, looking forward to the next installments.
Who cares If It's glass or steel, It's still a hot rod.
Might have missed it, but did the poor braking get resolved? Pedal mods were in the offing but bleeding removed a possible huge air bubble. Unclear, to me anyway, if that was it or not.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.
Got it sorted in the end.
After all the messing about turns out it was a massive air lock in the pipe to the front nearside calliper.
The brakes had all been bled until no air bubbles were visible but there was still air in the pipe!
Ended up pumping a litre of new fluid through and that cleared it.
Brakes are great now.

Cool, but it seems kinda weird that you have decent brakes with a 3:1 pedal ratio. Doesn't sound possible really unless you're pressing incredibly hard! Hmm. Just curious, enquiring minds and all that!

Thanks for bringing the build over here Phil ,I've always liked the look of your 32
Shame about the Torqued up forum, although I haven't spent much time on there in recent years,I enjoyed my time spent there.
Well, that's a bu**er!!!
I thought all my pictures had transferred over OK but just noticed now Torqued Up has closed all my pics have disappeared!
The pics were obviously on links to the old site hosting, now that's gone so have my pics.
Just as well they are all on a hard drive else ware.
Just got to find them and go through the pain of adding them one by one into this thread.
Going forward will be fine just the last 7 pages to re-populate!

Yup.
Not only that but Apple in their wisdom are now storing pics in something called HEIC format that this forum wont load.
So I've now had to find a HEIC to jpeg convertor to convert all my latest pictures.
And they call this progress
Just tried to add some pics after conversion from HECI and it appears to work. Looks like I've some busy evenings ahead
And just found another problem.
When I copied over the original pics Torqued Up let us post 15 pics per post.
This forum only allows 8 per post so looks like I may have to cut some pics![]()

Don't know if IanT can twerk the forum settings for that. It may be a size limit or too stop spamming

'Somewhere' on your Apple phone there is a setting to take pics in .jpg format instead of HEIC.
Try :
Go to Settings
Tap Camera
Tap Formats
Tap Most Compatible
