Hi Phil, when photos are uploaded on here it detects the original orientation and loads it that way.
On mobile phones and tablets when they take a photo there is a top and bottom to the device, auto rotate corrects it ,but only to view on the device and sometimes when they are stored.
To correct an image, edit it by rotating to the correct orientation and then make a slight change to the image,eg crop it slightly, then save it and replace the image on here
That makes sense now.
Means a whole load of work editing images though.
Most likely the original reason I stopped posting on here all those years ago, its a lot of trouble compared to other forums I use.
Did I hear somewhere the forum software was being updated at some point?

Amazing how time flies...
I had a good look round the Swap meet but only came away with some new engine mounts.
Had a few hours in the garage this weekend so new mounts fitted.
Took 30 mins on the nearside, hour and a half on the offside .
New mounts.
Nearside new.
Offside old.
The old mounts had split underneath so were replaced as a matter of caution.
Then we got to the "I wonder if she'll start up after a long rest?"
Got in, turned the key, pressed the button and after a few cranks she started.
I know we all love an engine video
The Fi-Tech FI seems to be doing the job.
Even the missus said it sounded the best it has.
I've got to re-torque the cylinder head studs now as the motor has done a few heat/cool cycles and there's a small amount of oil appearing on the MLS head gaskets.
These are evidently a bit of a bu**er to seal.
Also got to re set the rockers now they have run a bit. There's s slight tapping coming from the valve covers.
MOT is booked for a weeks time so just looking round to see all is well and saw a small pool of oil inside the nearside rear tyre.
Got a small oil leak from the half shaft bearing.
Its annoying as they are new bearings and only done 120 miles so far.

If your engine was a chevy, which its not, I'd be able to confidently say there's a mounting pad missing on your engine mount tubes such that the weight of the engine bears onto the chassis mount directly and not simply via the bolts and relatively thin metal ears of the underside of the engine mount. But being a Ford I can't really say but as they look so similar I think it's a decent bet that the same applies. Discuss.
Sounds good nevertheless. Be interesting to learn what the injection is like in use.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.
I’ll have a look at the mounts again. I have thought they were a bit lacking but they’ve been like that since it was built 20years + ago. With the new motor they will need beefing up.

I never knew that Chris ,about the pad that is, i guess its possible that the metal area of the mount around the hole could fracture depending on the wall thickness of the tube providing enough surface area.
I'm on my second pair of mounts since 1986 (350 Chevy),just the rubber starting to fail on one mount ,and i found my trans mount had failed so that may have stressed the motor mounts out ,so I'm not worried.
Maybe if an engine is producing a lot of torque it is worth thinking about.
Pretty cool car

Small update.
Checked every thing over for the MOT only found the screen washer pump not working and leaking when tried.
Ordered new Lucas unit from the Bay.
MOT was going so well until we got to the brakes!
Foot brake just squeezed a pass, hand brake failed miserably.
Otherwise all clear.
So now got 10 working days to sort the brakes and retest.

Was this a disc set up on rear in the build ?

Yes. The car originally had sierra rear calliper’s with built in handbrake. I swapped out the callipers for alloy HiSpek SVA units with separate pads for the handbrake. Advice so far has been the small handbrake pads do not wear to the disc as they are not used much and to try running with the handbrake on for a few miles to seat the pads then re adjust. Found the problem with the rear foot brake. Proportioning valve was screwed in to far. Remembering nothing has been set up or balanced since the brakes were fitted.

I presume your rear axle is a locker type ? How did they test your rear brakes ?

I was told hotrodding was expensive, I laughed.......but it wasnt for long

I suspect the axle type question might have been kinda loaded. The guys where I get my mots done don't test the rear on the rollers when the lsd axle question is answered in the affirmative. Dunno if it's a potential damage thing or a source of erroneous readings.

Yes my axle question was loaded ....
On my 32 I have a hybrid axle which is a 12 bolt Chevy centre section fitted with an Eaton Posi and 4:10 gears. The outer ends are strange ford big bearings with 9" brakes. Custom Moser half shafts.
I was advised not to put the rears on the rollers as it could cause damage. Fortunately I have a friendly MOT tester who is happy to take my car out on the road for the brake tests.

Ha, or is that ah ha!
Hybrid you say? Sounds like a total bar steward!

Sorry for late reply have been busy doing house & garden stuff for a bit and not had time to visit the forum.
My tester though friendly doesn't even want to get in the car! I have to sit in it and do the switches and brakes etc.
Since its visit to the garage for the MOT I've had to completely remake the brake pedal assembly.
Its now much stronger and the angles the pedal is at is more comfortable.
I toyed with the idea of fitting a 90 degree under dash unit with a 7:1 ratio but in a 32 there is no room.
There's no room on the bulkhead out front as the engines in the way, so I've re-made the pedal with a higher mount for the push rod.
This just about gives me a 4:1 ratio which is not great but its all I can do with what I have.
I have adjusted the handbrake pads so they are just binding with the handbrake off.
Hopefully this should put some heat in them on the drive to the garage.
Just need to sort out the re test.
My daughter came home this week with a LWB high roof Sprinter she has just acquired and said "Dad now the hot rods almost done can you build a camper for me.
Double bed in the back, shower/toilet, sitting area and kitchen would be good."
Off we go again
