Door pin removal !

Should have been a simple tap out job as the doors were off not so long back .... and new stainless pins too... but that didn't happen. So a 45 year old apprentice piece got modified to suit !

Mine still has the original pins in it,I have never removed them,no play in them either, hope I don't have to seeing how much they seize in.

Me and my big mouth ,driver side lower pin appears to have sheared sometime this year,top is fixed but underneath it’s moving,there may be trouble ahead

Easier to get the top pin out first and work on the door and pillar separate i would think ?

Thanks John and Chris, I'm going to assess this carefully before I start , can't see how it could have snapped in two,maybe I am mistaken.But if it is in two pieces it may complicate the removal if it's broke at an angle.
May just take you up on your offer Chris ,or I may make a tool.
It's also been suggested to drill out the hinge rivets, remove the hinge from the door then bolt the hinge back afterwards.
Might wait for the weather to go above freezing
But it's got to be done, it's making the door catch rattle .

I have done some of those hunts for items and found other things I had either lost or forgotten about.

Having had a closer look at the hinge,it may have seized and broke in the door part of the hinge a few years ago and has worn the lower section at least.

if it was a real bu66er to get out i'd cut through with a 1mm disc. it'd remove some hinge material but nothing a brass/copper shim washer or two wouldn't fix, plus it wouldn't then be steel on steel.

It's good to be prepared,there is an oversize pin available too,or I could brass bush the bottom section with a mini hinge repair kit, almost looking forward to it now.
Just need to get my lazy ass into that cold garage
