sorry tim, just seen your reply mate. yes a little 2.5 daimler hemi with a blower manifold drilled for a 4 barrel that has a 2x2 barrel adapter with a pair of 94's on it. it came from merv barnett's old 32 roadster i'm told.

i sold the daimler hemi and boxes today, so it looks like i'll be using the holden v8 and manual box i have in stock instead. today anyway, lol.
also i just bought an fx4 black cab to be the doner for the other (48) chevy cab and panels i bought a couple of weeks ago. that one'll be a wooden dropside truck, sort of hillbilly (walton's) style.
oh, and i swapped the fibreglass model A bed sides and tailgate that came with the truck for a pair of cycle fenders and a pair of bobbed model A rear fenders. i'll make a steel bed box so it's more practical.

yes mate, sure is. re the daimler, they're pretty but damn they're expensive to get parts for. you could rebuild 2 small block chevy or ford v8's for the price of one daimler. bit like a rover v8 really and you know how that is first hand mate.

I was talking to someone recently who has one, he's got a good few grand invested in it, nice looking but a bit of a dear hobby.

when i had the deal i looked at the daimler engine and box as an asset more than what i'd be using in the build. about half the money from it's sale bought the doner car taxi for the other truck cab. i still don't know what this one will end up with, i've got the option to buy a cheap (by today's standards) ford 2.0 pinto and box which would make it daily driver affordable to run. i'd have to then make a hood and sides but that's only metal right?

Makes good sense Neil, as does the pinto motor if your looking for daily economy mate. Not hard to get a fair load of bhp out of them as well. Yeah it's only metal.

here's the car, it should be with me in the next week to ten days. it has a flattie six that either 3.0 or 3.2 with an auto box and o/d. the plan is run it as is this year and swap in the holden v8 and manual box etc over next winter. it's a real quirky thing but i like that.

cheers all, just tweaked the thread title to suit.
it'll be slow going, i finally got my mri scan results today and i've got 2 prolapsed ('slipped' to you and me) discs pressing on nerves so that explains the back pain i have every day
    getting old sucks!!!
