Cheers guys. I'm really looking forward to this build. Tom will be in charge as he will be building the new chassis and roll cage. We have most parts for this build. It will be running the 377 sbc and power glide out of the tinsel town hustler.

looks to be a cool project mate, will you paint this one or just some 'patina' style race car signwriting?
and anyway what were you doing up at 4.16am looking at forums?

At the moment it's not getting painted just the dents knocked out.
I've been waking up around 4am for some unknown reason.

If that wheel/tyre combo is anything to go by, I reckon you're spot on John very tough looking indeed. Looking forward to the build mate.

Front and rear axles away now being narrowed. I will order the box section steel for the main rails monday. To run in the gasser circus you need a box section chassis. Every thing is all going to plan. 75% of parts sorced now.

Will be back on it tomorrow for a few hours. Hopefully dash out windscreen and steering box. I thinking about a fiberglass front for it.

    Tonight’s progress.

I managed to get over to the workshop this eve. The plan was to make some braces to hold the body.
The main concern was to keep the a posts together as the bottoms are a little crusty and nothing links them when removed.
Braces made out of 20mm angle bolted in to the body and easy to remove / refit if required!
One thing lead to another! And with the help of a couple of guys we decided the body would come off now And that it did!
Also we set the wheel base on the jig, checked adjusted 5 times. Will maintain checks through the build just to be sure.

Next up is some plasma cutting, trimming up, and making some little fixture for body to sit on on the jig. This is all planned and should be easily made! He says!

Might not be the weekend till another update, see how things go outside the workshop. John as above will be back at the weekend and I suspect remove the rear wings if I don’t get time for that.

enjoying this so far. i am logging plans and measurements in a large note pad. I’m calling it the book of success! Hopfully it will pay off!
