Front ends looking great for sure 👍🏻
I have been doing some small bits to make an engine fixture. Good thing is should be re usable for other chassis stuff if required in the future.

Some progress this evening. All just plonked on the jig.
Lots of moving around req, Body needs to be lower at the rear and also moved back.
Engine height and position can be looked at along with drive line and pinion once i have sorted the ladder bar fitment.

Todays Update!
Made the body a bit more secure on the jig and centralised.
Centralised engine and box, height and set back to be confirmed.
Hubs on to check wheel in the new front and not looking bad at all.
Some lightening of the boot lid a bit more.

Last nights progress wasn’t really on the visual side for pics. Thought processing and placing things in a location to see if other things will clear. Planning out some sections.
I’ll try to keep the pics coming.
A dummy prop installed, as close as I’ll get to a prop with out actual yokes ect to check some angles out 👍🏻

Little update. Just recently it was looking like i might be loosing the work shop due to a huge rent increase from £400 to £950 per month. I contested it and spoke to the ownwer of the site. He sorted it out with a meeting with the estate agents involved. So the ship is now steady and on we go. Hopefully another good couple of days on it this weekend. Lots of new parts ordered for the steering and chassis. I'm sure more hole drilling will be done.
Real steel
Loosing the workshop was a squeaky bum moment… more scary than driving a fast gasser ….Who said hole drilling….

Tom is that done with a Q Max cutter or hole saw ? Often seen it done and wondered what is the easiest option with thin sheet ?

hi mate, most of this done with a hydraulic hole punch. Still have to drill a 20 mm or 10 mm hole depending how deep the space have is and how small you want the hole… you have to mark it out carefully as you would with any hole cutting as one hole too close together and you’re done for!

Luckily I’ve sketched it out in the book for the car so shouldn’t be too hard to transfer on the other door.
I’ll do the same with the top half of the door and again will be able to transfer, you just have to remember what size pilot hole for what hole as with the punch there are 2 different size pilots, that could go wrong fast!!!

Todays update
More holes in the door.
Some workings out for position of ladder bars on rear axle.
Ladder bar front X member started.
Shaving down the axle brackets to get a better fit to the casing.

Some slow progress last night.
Measuring up ladder bars.
Working out the mid way point on the pinion adjuster with enough thread still in the bar.
Getting the ladder bars symmetrical and working out any discrepancy that we found.
Pretty much there with the best setting, adjusters as neutral as possible.
Front bar mount will have a fixture to the jig next with the middle hole at a whats thought to be good position.
All holes will then be checked and recorded. We may not get all adjustment holes with the correct pinion angle but modifications to the turn buckle / bar can be made in the future if it’s reaching for the sky ect. Better to have the points than not in my opinion

Last night consisted of making a quick fixture for front ladder bar mounts. Pretty self explanatory, not in its exact final place as of yet but you’ll get the idea!
