Small block 350 Chevy at last! Yep shoulda done it sooner.
Gotta have fun in my old ageeven if I am a grumpy very Ol git.
I will start getting a bit more busy in the engine Bay Area soon! But I hope to maintain it being pretty tidy.

More parts are on the car now than on the bench so that’s a plus! It hasn’t looked like much has changed but lots of little bits sorted out.
I will still be working on it as much as possible. I have to knock up a quick bit of pipe work for johns truck so that can start up and get sold.
also have a few other ‘jobs’ lined up to come in that I will be doing inbetween the race car work.

I stopped by to see Tom's Gasser last night
Really impressed with what Tom (and his helpers) have built, lots of excellent details and a high standard of workmanship
Definitely worth a closer look when it gets to the track
Thanks rusty!

I’ve made a start on the wiring after a little stop gap on some fabrication for someone else.
planning to sneak the wiring in before the next bit of fab comes in on a really cool project.

A bit more wiring done the other evening, msd coil wires and tach signal needed to be extended, I needed to add a power wire out the fuse box for the tacho, also got all the earths in the plugs for the relays.
I quite enjoy this kind of wiring when I’m making it all myself it’s only you that’ll mess it up!

Mines more if the smoke stays in it's good
Sent from my SM-A515F using NSRA mobile app
lol, the amount of 'layman' i've convinced that wires are full of smoke and it's the smoke that conducts electricity. i tell them if the plastic melts and the smoke comes out the 'whatever' no longer works until you replace the wire with a new bit full of smoke. as it sounds plausible they usually go for it
neil.
Wiring looks very tidy, gives me something to aim for.
I may live in East London, I may have a number plate that reads "Chopt",
but I do NOT use 6" wheel spacers!
Messy wires don’t need to exist. Draw it out, take some time. I think it could be better. Let’s see if it all works and is ok. If not go again!
I’ve got a nice list of things to get measured up and ordered this week, also a few checks and some more wiring.
I started making a quick plug on the earths to the switches today but wasn’t happy with the terminals that came with the plug they seemed a bit ‘cheap’ I went home and ordered some ones that look better quality so when they arrive I’ll continue that section.

The new terminals have arrived so I can get on with wiring again. Head down and get it to it.
Elsewhere the rear axle has been pulled apart as when I went to fit the prop the uj wasn’t matching with the diff so a quick strip down and pulled the diff out for a bigger yoke rather than messing around with different ujs.
The shafts needed to come out anyway for longer studs so no drama there.
some other parts have also arrived, I needed some longer bolts for some ladder bar stuff as they wernt quite long enough.

A good day on the Austin today. I got all my relay switched earths in, starter button connected through the inhibitor.
I’ve drilled my pass through hole in the bulk head and covered the wires to the bay, only lights fan and water pump. I’ve also covered the other route of wires, oil pressure live and tech live.
more sleeve on its way to cover the msd coil wires and tach input.
will continue in the week
