I`ve been busy on my building board since Christmas, restoring a Lindberg 1/8TH scale `BIG `T` that I bought some years ago off e.bay (usa). Some parts were already broken off mainly due to the original builders very sparing use of cement, something that helped me when striping it completely apart for restoration.
The previous horrible hand painted Blue paint had to go using Deluxe Materials `Strip Magic` which works like Nitromors but wont harm plastic, once striped it washes off with Methylated Spirit then warm soapy water. Dry and it`s ready for paint!
Half of one side of the frame was missing so that had to be built along with the windshield frame which was also missing, this I made from a length of steel rod bent to shape.
A major problem was much of the chrome had faded on the front axle, rocker covers and headlights and the new windshield frame etc. This was fixed using `Molotow Liquid Chrome` which comes in a felt tip style pen and simply brushes on, the tips come in varying widths and it does look like chrome!
I have many more kits to build but wanted to restore this `T` as a sister rod to my restored Monogram `Big T` that my parents bought me for Christmas 1962...
That looks great Brian. I'm tempted to get one of those pens for an ongoing project. See how time goes for this year before 'garage time' starts back up !

I've got a big T that I built years ago, found it in a box in the garage the other day looking very sorry for itself, pieces fallen or broken off! It will get redone eventually, probably when I'm in a nursing home with nothing else to do!!!

The big Monogram kits have always been a favourite with me. I get the urge to modify them a bit though...
Those two Monogram Big Deuces were given added Fink appeal many years ago. Those, and a few others, were regulars at the Essex Nationals Model Show. I was a member of the South London Auto Modeller club (SLAM), and we sorted the model displays at the Nationals for a few years.
We used to have monthly meets at the Shirley Poppy pub. It's a Macdonalds now.
I have the 1/25th Golden T but never seen the 1/8th kit of it Stephen.
I think there`s been around 6 or so re-releases of the Monogram Big T including the `Big Rod` show and go T, the `Big Drag` competition roadster, the 3 in 1 kit (can be built original style, `60s style and rat look) and the fad style `Custom Street and Go Pickup`; I have the last 2 still unmade.
Wouldn`t mind a 1/8th `Big tub`, always liked the look of it...
The Big Tub got a re-release a while back I think. I've missed it both times around.
Got me a Big T though, built and boxed. I walked into the IPMS Telford show one year and a dealer had a mint one on his shelves. It took all my spending money for the weekend, but it's one of the best kits in my collection. I've never regretted buying it.
My built one came from the USA via Ebay in very early internet days.
Been messing around with this lot. Cars are mostly done by Simon Robbins i've done the 'scenery' and messed about with the camera to get some 'video' Not uploadable here so it's FB for a look

Beautiful colours on the covers, all B+W inside though.
The first ever issue had a article on building a model of the Pierson Brothers coupe. All you needed was a Monogram '34 Coupe, a Black Widow T and a Midget Racer! That lot would set you back a few quid these days.
Here you go Brizey. I placed the 12" ruler with it so you can see the scale. One day I will get around to building it although I just hope the plastic still glues after 33 years.
