Size: 726.6 KB1949 Chevrolet 3100 Rat Rod/Restomod Pickup - ‘Clyde’.
I have owned Clyde for just over 3 years, fulfilling one of my bucket list ambitions to own an American truck but now is the time for him to be passed on to someone else to enjoy. With a strong running gas sipping modern 4.3L V6 motor and a smooth Auto Transmission with Overdrive, this Truck gets down the road superbly and gets thumbs up all over town!
Clyde was restored in the states by ‘Driven Rods and Rides’ (DR&R) and was registered in the UK in 2016. According to DR&R sales advert, it was a frame-off build starting with a perfectly weathered old Farm Truck. The body was striped down to shinny metal, lots of classic pin-striping was added, then the entire truck was clear coated. The frame and suspension is from an S-10 (1990s) with a newer chevy IFS front end with power disk brakes & power steering. A set of 15" chrome smoothie rims with Coker white wall tires was next on this list which look great on this truck. Dual exhaust and wiring was also installed, since replaced with dual exhaust stacks. The bed received a whole new floor with repurposed old barn wood and removable custom build wood bed sides.
The upgrades continue throughout the interior as well. New Dolphin gauges, a new retro sounds am/fm/aux stereo system, new seat, new door panels, new carpet, and a new billet/wood wrapped steering wheel were installed along with more custom pin-striping that matches the outside of the truck.
Coupled with a mild lowering and and those old school rims wrapped with white walls this truck has the perfect stance and look that everyone loves young and old. Some of the Highlights:
    - 4.3L V6
    - Auto Transmission With Overdrive
    - 10 Bolt Rear End
    - S-10 Frame
    - Power Disk Brakes
    - Power Steering
    - Tilt Steering Column
    - Retrosounds AM/Fm/Aux Stereo
    - Dual Exhaust Stacks
    - Dolphin Gauges
    - New Interior Appointments
    - Fulton sun visor

Since owning Clyde, I have replaced the quarter windows, window felts, door latch, door locks (same key) , Water Pump, Distributor, Battery and Plugs. The next jobs would have been the Oil Stem Seals as there is a puff of smoke on start-up and rocker cover gasket. The truck still starts, runs, shifts, stops and drives fantastic! Below are a couple of recent photos from an insurance valuation and a link from DR&R when the truck was being sold in the States. If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them. £22,500 ono Thanks for reading
