Saab it front wheel drive no? And lexus lodsa wiring ECU's etc. I had thought of bmw but again to much electronics. I am jusy an old duffer who likes simple.
Just spoke to D&A engineering n Manston who do v8's only and a much better deal as well as only 2-4 week turnaround. Helpful fella.

Saab 9000 RWD, cranks & rods are good for 500bhp as std. A few small tweaks to induction & turbo and 350bhp is easily achieved.

well i beg to differ only the 3.5 has the small bore. all others... 3.9,4.0,4.2 and 4.6 use the same 'bigger' bore with different strokes.
neil.

Your right Neil I meant bored, 94mm instead of 89 ish. Found a supply of pistons so gotta take block to engineers to make sure 20 thou will clean up bores.

So after a bit of a bummer with the 3.9 over lump needing a rebuild, also finding that the holley 500 that my boy bought for me was actually a 600. I have decided to sell the engine as a project for someone else to build, sold the carb and manifold.
Now bought a 4.6 with dizzy conversion which is in great nick, fingers crossed. Going up the northampton on monday to collect.
Just put springs and beam axle back on the old girl ready to do brakes.
Fell ar*e over t*t walking backwards over the chassis, ouch.
Keeping an eye for a carb setup for the 4.6.
Onwards and upwards.

So 3.9 now sold as a big box of bits to a guy with more time than me.
4.6. Collected and all looks good, stripped off all the bits i don't need like power steering, injection bits.
Popped over to Neils ( my gasser) to collect disc conversion, all good and ready to stick new discs on and fit. Cheers Neil.
So now chasing down a carb setup.

Now sorted carb wise.
Weber 500, edelbrock inlet and nice chrome air filter.
Just got to pop over to redhill on saturday to collect it.
All coming together.

Then away for 3 weeks, hope to come back refreshed and raring to get on.
Take care guys.

have a great holiday mate.

Hi ya
Back down garage after 3 weeks on holiday and then a week having all windows in the replaced and a mega deep clean. Phew!
So finished fitting both sides of the disc conversion, ckeaned up axle, bit of black 2 pack. Sorted. Spent ages cutting and grinding off old engine and shock mounts, cleaned up area for working out engine mounts.
Also need to source a dual circuit non servo master cylinder to fit under floor, ideally .75 inch plus. Seen some vw ones look potentials.
Cheers G

I'd suggest that you should be looking at a range of masters, eg Wilwood, such that if you need to change the diameter a replacement just bolts straight in. There may be tables somewhere detailing for example vw masters by diameter, application, part number etc, but there might not be!
I'd also suggest that if you've got 6+ :1 or so pedal ratio, .75 diameter is a bit on the small side as a starting point. 13/16" or maybe 1" is where I'd pin the initial tail on the donkey. You should be able to nail it in one. I did see you said .75 plus.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.
Cheers Chris
Yeah probably right, need to measure up original pedal leverage. Want to use original mounting position and AC pedal, i can mod the bracket to suit fixing as curently a 2 bolt fixing, AC master was 3/4 inch so thought start there. But a bit of reseach to do.
Cheers

remember disc systems usually have bigger master bore as calipers use a greater volume of fluid.
neil.
Cheers Neil.
So had a look at pedal set up and this is what ive got.
A 12.5 inch pedal arm from pedal face centre to bottom pivot. The pivot rund through a bush in the chassis and comes out t'other side with another little arm coming back up which is 2.75 inches this has the master cylinder pushod fitting.
Now looking at wilwood site pedal ratio calcs, this set is not shown, but using their method I make my ratio about 4.5 to 1, not sure if that is or have I missed something as the pivot and m/c arms are not on one plane.
Anyone understand physics and fulcrums?????? Argh
Heres a pic

Your sums sound ok to me. Masters require just over an inch, say 1.25, of travel for full stroke. You might be able to shorten the arm some to get a better ratio. How much travel is there before the pedal hits the bulkhead?
