well with every bit bolted back on i got my mojo back for it again after not touching it for a couple of years looked across the garage at the wifes mk1 rs2000(which i was probably never gonna get around to)and offerd her the 59 if she sold the escort

she did not think about it to long and the escort sold before the 59 arrived

we only managed a couple of shows last year but the car was gonna neeed some changes so the mrs could drive it(she had a Brain Hemorrhage a few years back and still has some fatigue)the 59 came fiitted with a ZZ4 crate engine with twin edelbrocks and a muncie 4 speed which we decided to change to a th350 and add an EPAS electric power steering kit she was also not keen on the 17" alloys/steering wheel so these were changed for more period looking items. currently rubbing down engine bay for a fresh lick of paint while engine is out for the th350 install

    Wow!
Impressive, not 1, but 2 classic Corvettes in your garage.
Keep us posted with the progress.
I may live in East London, I may have a number plate that reads "Chopt",
but I do NOT use 6" wheel spacers!

The vette did not have a posi fitted and i convinced the wife she needed one so bought an Eaton posi + fitting kit and started to look for another Diff/carrier.Corvette carriers with a posi have a small or thick P cast into them and sell for top dollar not what i needed as this is not a NCRS restored car and also any 55-64 chevy open carrier will work it just needs a bit of trimming on one of the ribs inside. picked up a 57 rear axle at the swapmeet and stripped out the carrier which also had 3.36 gears exactly what i wanted . used a Dremel to grind down the rib now just need to send it to paul at Southern Axels to set upName: ES157.jpg
