    Idit/flaming river column

Does anyone know if either the flaming river or idit columns will fit a escort rack or do i need to change the rack?.

Do you mean will the column splines match those on an escort uj?

The info is out there, it's only shaft diameter and spline count.

I'm thinking my column spline diameter is bigger than that of an escort, from memory.

Bit of machining and welding could result in an escort shaft having a double d end to go seamlessly into a DD uj. There will be other solutions too I'm sure.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.

I've got Ididit column on to an Escort rack, recon I had escort connection to UJ machined to suit. Just checked Stan, I've a shaft coming from UJ at rack, you could get different Ford racks with different length of shafts. Can't see or feel any splines as shaft goes into Borgeson joint, have a couple of locking screws in the joint. Recon I got Borgeson half spline for column and a D end on the other, easier to get shaft D'd. but I ain't 100% sure though.

Mutter pressed wrong button n lost it.

I've Escort rack n a Ididit column. Had a look at mine, I've a shaft that's splined going into UJ from rack. Borgeson on column looks like it's splined on column but possibly D'd other side of Borgeson. Can't see or feel any splines on bottom side of shaft as it enters Borgeson either. Should think easier to get a D end machined, suspect that's what I did, bit back now.
