    Sierra rear caliper rebuild

I have a pair of rear sierra calipers that originally came on my car. They were working fine when removed.

I have just powder coated them and fitted a rebuild kit, but can't seem to get the handbrake mechanism working.

I have the correct parts in the correct side, all in the correct order.

When I took them apart moving the handbrack lever on the caliper drove the piston out as it should.

They were stripped down, cleaned and coated (no powder got inside).

The lever rotates a shaft that has a hole in with a 12mm metal slug in. The top end of the slug fits in the bolt that is threaded into the piston.

It looks like when the shaft rotates the slug should somehow move the bolt up thus adjusting the piston to pad contact.

When I now move the lever there is no movement in the piston.

Assembly was a direct reversal of dismantling.

    What am I missing...?

Not familiar with those calipers but guess they must be something akin to VW and Audi ones? Isn't there a screwy thing inside which provides for the self adjustment and requires the winding back of the piston when replacing pads? I think the handbrake operates on the end of the screw. I'm wondering if it has to be adjusted up before it works. This is done by multiple pulls on the handbrake. Might all be utter nonsense though!

    Thanks.
Was a Bosch caliper rebuild, seems they have different internals to Ford ones.
Did lead me to this video though

    This is what I have.
The only thing I can see may be off is the small metal slug that goes in the handbrake lever has fallen over and isn't sitting upright.
Just of to strip them down yet again!

    Got there in the end.
Had the washer at the wrong end of the spring, should have been at the bottom I'd put it at the top.
