    39 chrysler beam axle lowering

How do I lower a front beam on leaf springs?
Axle currently under the springs but just swapping to the top will hit chassis and upset all sorts of geometry I guess.
Rear axle easy using lowering blocks ...
    Cheers

'reprofile' the leaves to flatten them out. i assume they're a multi leaf pack? strip them to separate leaves then you can flatten them in a press or with heat. with heat when it starts to glow orangey red you can make them whatever shape you want to get the height you want. reassemble and voila

Another way would be to modify the chassis along the lines in the drawing.ALBA003.jpg

Drop the axle? Chappy in Blackpool does some great work, see pics, including oddball stuff, don't know him though! He's on Hotrod Meltdown.

that is definately the best way and with someone here in the uk to do it i'd say it's a no brainer. another advantage is the kingpin is pulled in slightly so arch clearance isn't compromised as much on full lock.

Not keen on modifying the chassis :/
The axle mods look a good way of doing it...
Anyone got a spare axle for sale

Nope just like the option of modifying a spare rather than the original

i get that but 2 things..... 1) you'll have the original cluttering up your garage/storage forever and 2) will you if you're honest 'ever' refit the stock axle? take it from a serial hoarder with lots of 'that'll come in handy one day' stuff/crap it'd be easier to just modify what you have.

I've put a shout out for you. Hopefully something will come of it. I know turnaround is variable as they're done in batches of 4 or more.
