    screws

    Whats up guys

Ive recently bought a new 609 Mallory module for my dizzy and getting the two brass button head cap screws out that held the old module in place to the dizzy base plate was a nightmare they were seized in resulting in the heads being toast ! They are 4mm x 5mm brass button head cap screws and Mallory state to only use brass but trying to find some of these is nigh on impossible
I can get steel but im told if i use steel it can create arcing in the dizzy !
Anyone know where i can buy these ( in England ) or has anyone got some in a redundant dizzy i could buy ?
Why they dont supply new ones with the module is beyond me as they know the heads are gonna chew up
But there again Mallory's owned by Holley now so they probably couldn't care less
    Thanks
    Tony

Surely cheese head slotted screws would work fine? OK, won't have the possible ease of insertion of a socket but hey, that's what chewing gum, bluetack, tape, tweezers etc are for.

    Hi all
Reason for them needing to be so shallow headed is they have to clear the advance/retard lever and the tolerance is zero ! Its a stupid set up really !! What Ive done is put a normal Phillips m4 screw in one side which doesn't have a lever going over it and the one on the lever side Ive used one of the old button heads and cut a slot in it and put it in with a flat blade screwdriver ! Talk about a lash up !! If this works ill eat my hat !
Good old Mallory/Holley cant even be bothered to reply to my e mail
    Thanks all

In this modern, plastic, world in which we live, it might be worth looking into exactly that, plastic! Lots available, if you can avoid expensive shipping! Low profile heads too.
