    Tremec trans ID

    Been after a tko or tkx box ... i have found a tremec box that a bloke has and thinks is a tremec t5 -but it doesnt look like a t5 looks like a tko to me - the only numbers he can find on it are - c-2605803 and HA260002 just wondering if anyone has any ideas? ill try upload a pic ... any help appreciated - thanks

    Hmm thanks mate … watching that it def looks like a tko500 or 600 hmmm … looks like I may be in a road trip next week … tried to id from the numbers above but got nowhere

    If its not a tko, that it looks exactly much like ( I have one), it'll be a 3550, which is the box that the tko morphed out of. What the differences are I dunno but I suppose the tko was some kind of upgrade.

    I've just googled tko v 3550 and there's a handy thread on factory five. In and out spline counts and mounting bolt patterns seem to be the obvious differences, plus a bit of torque capacity.

    Looks like a TKO 500 or 600 to me. Could be GM or Ford application so check spline count and bell housing pattern.
    I have a new mid mount shifter for one if needed.

    Thanks Steve .. a Ford one can be made to work in a gm application with the correct bell housing I’m led to believe ?
