    Car SOS

Just watched car SOS on the BBC with the Pop, fair play to Roasty on getting it on the tv, but I can't help thinking that we hot rodders were put across as a bunch of bodgers. Quite a negative representation of our pastime, I know that I agonised over every aspect of my Pop to ensure it is correctly engineered and safe to go on the road. I have always regarded Tim Shaw as a first class w**ker and this programme confirmed it. I hope no one from legislation was watching.

Are you on the NSRA forum, it's been featured in a long piece about it's repair following this programme.

Roasty did not get it on TV, a chap called Mark Wooster can take ALL of the credit for this.
Roasty just happened to have it in his workshop for 5 years......................

The implication in the programme is that the diff, made for a Jag irs, was swapped into an unidentified live axle that, to me at least, looked very much like a Ford 8", but which has also been stated somewhere, and quite authoritatively, to be a Volvo axle. I realise that anything is theoretically possible but I never realised these parts were so interchangeable!

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.

My apologies to Mark Wooster, I am not familiar with the story at all and the programme did not give the appropriate and necessary due credit!!! I hate it when someone takes credit for other people's work.

Thanks to jsf55 in pointing me to the thread on Andys Pop, I had no idea of the mess that Car SOS had made!!! And they made out that we were all bodgers. Thank goodness for people like Black Pop Racing to put this mess to rights.

My Pop took me 10 years plus to build, some of the "Professionals" that I turned to were disappointing to say the least so I went on courses to learn the skills to put their shoddy work right, I will put my Pop up for any inspection in the knowledge that it is built correctly.

These "Professional " builders should be named and shamed, maybe someday when we meet up you can spill the beans 🫘

    Cheers, Steve
