Some say it's not good and compromises the possibility of eventual repair. But if it works and gets you out of a spot who's to say it's wrong? Minor soldered repairs can't be too expensive though, if you can find somewhere that can ctually do it properly.

depends where the leak is as to whether it can be soldered properly or not. i've used both fibreglass filler and normal body filler on core leaks with good success. sniff of rattle can black and it hides well. make sure you push the filler right into the core and leave a slight bulge where the leak is/was.
