ok, so he must have put square headlamps in at a later stage, just wish i could remember the surname, i do see him now & again, yes nice guy. Heres a pic of the other van owned by les part way through the build at the 2nd essex clubs run at the essex showground on the 22nd of july 79.

IT IS OF COURSE BEFORE THE REAR DOORS WERE CHEESEWEDGED!!

for those that dont know, the last owner of this van was Arnie? from Barnet/north london, apparently after not paying the rent on the council lock-up the council removed it, it ended up in Fishers breakers in Hendon.

Yep - used to do that one in a really scruffy beige and primer lowered '66 Galaxie 2 door coupe with hot 428 and 4 speed. There were so many of us - we would all cruise out to a pub somewhere out near Navestock or Ongar and later race back to Jakes burger bar across the road from the car park.

Just up the road from southend is rayleigh of course, the erics met at the weir pub, (dont know if they still do?) custom car ran a trophy night series at pubs around the country, i think it was called the vittle inn cruise?, or similar, this is one of the heats from rayleigh on the 15th of july 87, the pictures start off pretty poor, but still worth showing, its all history!, more to come & they get better!.

I think thats the g force mustang in the background of the beetle front shot, & the model t in the really bad picture is roger sinclairs which he still has, exactly the same, probably done about 52 1/2 miles since!!!!
