    Dave Cannon

As some of you may already know, Dave Cannon passed away on the 7th June, having been taken ill on his way to the Fun Run! I received this message from Kevin Bence regarding the funeral arrangements & celebration of his life.

Hi all, just an update about Dave, family have requested a private pure cremation and this will take place on the 29th of June. We have arranged a celebration for Dave for the 17th July from 12 noon at our local club, there is plenty of parking, please if attending reply with a thumb 👍 for each person so we can get a rough idea on numbers. The address is the Haven Bar, Hophurst Lane, Crawley Down, West Sussex, RH10 4LJ,

Dave built several top class cars including a Ford Pop (of course), the famous Porky Pilot & his latest, the blue Chevy coupe & matching trailer, shown here.

    RIP Dave.

Enjoyed having his assorted rants (Facebook) relayed to me by Ali. Last year at the Supernats he came looking for us, or in particular, Ali. Slightly awkward initially as until he spoke we didn't recognise him! It'd been a while and boy he'd slimmed down some! He handed Ali a package which turned out to be the Supernationals Participants Choice award / picture that he'd won with his Pilot, the year after Ali had won the Participants Choice. For those not in the know the awards/ event artwork used to feature the previous years winner. He said he thought it was more appropriate the she had it as it had her car on it. Now knowing that he'd moved I surmise he'd had a bit of a downsize / clearout, but nevertheless a kind and thoughtful gesture. Lovely guy. Will be missed.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.

Yes, his circumstances had changed quite dramatically for personal reasons & he was probably between locations at that time.
