They can't be from the Shutdown filming Mark as that was 1977 and Andromeda wasn't around then, I reckon they are from an NDRC meet at Blackbushe August 1978

aahhh yes silly me, still nice to see though!!, looked shutdownish, but yes andromeda wasnt there, full marks go to ken & nick.

heres a few from the 79 southend show at aviation way, i know i have already put some of these on before but i have now enhanced them a bit for better viewing.

the 2nd pic is a pontiac in the carpark, 4th is the true grit mini with clint eastwood murals & last is andy fenns that mini, front wheel drive with a rear axle!!, i think the steering wheel was also made from a cut down slotmag!!?

    enjoy.

Errr hello is anyone out there, come on keep this thread going, loads used to go in the the southend area.....

Heres the start of my piccys from the avaiation way airport museum show on the 31st of August 1980.

Picture 1 shows the the programme of course, the cover star is Dave Haskells Model Y, more of that soon.

Picture 2 shows the big rigs Incredible Hulk Diamond T (?) , this sadly ended its days rotting in Kirby breakers on the nearby Purdeys Industrial Estate, thats my Dad on the right with my now sadly departed Mum.

Moving on to the 3rd pic we have Rob Whitwells 32 now complete with V8 & flames, then we have the interior of John Hockleys Mustang equiped Wild Ride Pop & finally a nice mural which is from the Morris & Ingram Rolls Royce which depicted the history of Rolls Royce from 1901 in murals, more to come soon...enjoy.

Mark the "big Rigs" wrecker was owned by Barry Curtis, his still about .The truck was a Thorneycroft Mighty Anter origenly normally used for recovering tanks. They were made in Basinstoke.Remember the Dinky toy one?

On another note doeas anybody remember a Mk 3 Zephur from the late 70s,that was from Benfleet, the car had oval shaped rear side and back windowa with a biege vinal roof, jacked up rear suspention, slot wheels, may of had side pipes?.It ofton cruised the area and was terquwise in colour, then red then black.

here ya go,a few from the Weir-

This Mustang used to have them four-into-one side pipes, that right Ken,and the guy still owns it. Thats Geoff Owens V6 Pop in the background and the front of a V6 Escort

Dave Kellys 351 Cougar, you may remember this car around before with the same paint but a stock rear end and Daisy mags. Did Hot Rod Enterprises narrow the rear end?

Did this six wheeler have a 454?????

It was probably George Wheelers red 460 powered '67 (which at one time had tube grille) this is no more - returning from a Dick Turpin meeting some three years ago he had the rear end lock-up and got totalled going off the A127 backward through a lamppost!! RIP Mustang (not George fortunately)

    heres some more-
there was 2 V6 escorts there that evening the other being more grey primer than white-check out the "Erics" decal-

Heres Ford Fever with no scoop and a hole in the bonnet,i think the rear axle had not been long narrowed and the car been lowered down.Anybody no who done the work?.Dont no what engine was in it here?
I see the car sometime pryer to this at the weir and Northwick road before it had been altered, the exhausts exited at the back and it really sounded good(this is how i liked it),Did it have the 302 in it then?and did it ever have a pro stock hood scoop for a very short time??????

Shocking business that Banger racing incident

The cougar though is looking just fine, I know new owners like to make cars there own, but for me that car will always be yellow with graphics - really suited it.
