    Help - Glass Needed!

    Hello

I need some door glass and a two peice windscreen for my '51 Chevy (all flat by the looks of things). Can anybody point me in the right direction? Preferably in the South East Region.

    Many Thanks

    Greg

Try calling your locaal automotive glass supplier. Any of them that advertise that they do glass for commercials, plant etc. will cut laminated glass to pattern or to fit the hole you have.

You can get laminated and toughned from your local glass stockist.
Any advice or help given is actually based on having done the job, not read about doing it or Googling it.

Ok, thanks for all the advice guys. I'm not having much luck finding a local glass stockist in the N.Kent/S.E.London area, may be I'm just 'googling' the wrong thing
I know the windscreen has to be laminated but I take it the door glass just needs to be toughened?

Are you sure the screen is flat? I know they're two-piece, but I think it is curved slightly, as a common custom trick is to replace it with a one-piece Olds screen.

Thanks for the heads up rem, I'll check it against a straight edge. I hope it isn't curved!

Is Dartford a good place for you? one of my brothers had a k*t car windscreen cut while he waited there. I'll find out who did it if that's useful.

My big brother used this place: National Windscreens, Plant Glazing, Unit 17, Avery Way, Questor Industrial Estate, Hawley Road, Dartford, DA1 1JS Telephone 01322 229576.

This was about 18 months ago, so if they've moved, a call to National windscreens should sort out a nearby branch that does plant & commercial vehicle glass.

    HTH, Stuart.
