whats with the barn up in the air
some of those look cool
The black one with spoked Ford wheels is a genuine project he is moving on with and the pinstriped Dr Pepper van is real - runs a 4 cylinder GS engine.
Some good ideas though......
oh no no no.....im actually liking some of them. Some vehicles can be rodded and some cant......maybe the 2cv falls into the "can" category
(oh no....ive mentioned the catgeory word)

early ones couldnt have had the rust problems of the later ones
The problem seemed to develop when they moved production from Paris to Portugal. Up until then it was not an issue. However, you can get a full range of patch panels now so they are easy to sort out. You can also buy a stainless ladder chassis to replace the original and there seems to be no problem with SVA etc as lots of specialists are doing a chassis change for about £1000 - (I'm sure it's not really legal though).
I've put these up because I think that the 2CV is a legitimate alternative for rodders - just as the Willys was and the VW is becoming.
I'm fully aware that some will never accept anything but a Ford and I feel sort of like that myself (it's why I swapped the Pop Brown Bobtail body on my Modified for a steel 27 tub) but it's another alternative way for those who can't get hold of genuine early Ford tin for whatever reason.
Mark - I know about that all too well. It was a kick in the teeth for those who loved the 2CV.
Whatever people think about the car there is no doubt that it was the absolute pinnicle of 1930's automotive thinking and design. It was like Ford making the Model B right into the 1990s. To see it treated that way by Citroen in its final years was awful.
Providing the chassis is authorised by Citreon as an exact copy, rather liek Heritage bodyshells , it is perfectly legal to swap them over providing you get a new VIN issued. Devils in the detail![]()
Galations 6:7
Kev - the original Citroen chassis was a sort of sandwich/platform made of very thin steel with a set of corrugations in the centre. Very difficult to reproduce. The aftermarket ones are simply ladders with the brackets in the right place and bear no relation to the Citroen ones. They come in stainless or heavily galvanised.
The originals are still available from Citroen - they were almost a 24,000 mile service item at one stage. So they will never licence an alternative.
The '36 style sled, the gasser and the Cortina tailights...tres cool!!!

being built just up the road from me.
Very cool, could be a great candidate for young rodders given the engine size, and some great photoshop work there!
trying to get Jay interested in a 2CV for his daily when he's old enough....the problem is he now wants one as well as the 60s style custom we're collecting parts for and a 60s circuit style MG
