In reality, the holes wernt needed with the few gaps around the sill edge…but I still think it’s an advantage as can be a direct route out.

tacked in the other side. That arnt the best metal work examples but hopefully will do that.

do the swage lines go up into the running board or down tom? if down they can hold a little water.

They go down to naturally help any static water drain out towards the front end where my drain holes are and also standard holes in the front of the sill. There’s so many vent points now and a nose down rake I have minimum concern. Well over the top.

A good day at the workshop.
Done some small bits of cleaning up and a bit of welding here n there on the sills, splash of primer that will be easily buzzed back off when required.
They still hold the old and not factory new look.
I then moved on to the chassis, with the body off I could weld some bits that were easier to get to.
Few more bits to tinker with before the body goes back on to start the next section!

Tonight’s ideas went to plan, a little more welding on a few bits I wanted to to finish up. Working through that list!
Another thing I wanted to do was get the lower hinge bolts out of the little sandwich plate, well the idea was just to get them out of the A post and make a new one, but once removed and seeing how they work I thought I would save the original ones!
snapped bolts out, jobs a goodun.

Thats cool dude. Good job well done. I'm sure I have the correct counter sunk bolts for them hinges.

It feels like it’s been a while!
Been a bit busy else where over the last 2 weeks crewing on a Super Gas/ Super Comp Roadster, building some Harley pipes and creating another injury for myself

However, today I was back to it, thanks to Lee and John for lifting the body back over the chassis for me. Then I could get on with putting some captive threads in the new metal sills for the body to mount.

Chucked the front on again for a quick measure up of a rad, when this engine was in The Tinsel Town Hustler I was lucky never to have cooling issues, with a large creative aluminium built rad and large Spal fans I had no worries. This should be the same, real good size rad up front.

I also cast my eye over where I think I could run the headers, a way off that yet but I’ve build a few sets now and a lot of the time I find that’s something that no one thought of when doing the rest of the car, or it wasn’t them building them so it didn’t really matter!

pretty sure i did the headers/cage and a few other bits on that car a few years back.

You did indeed Wayne! �� we’re just getting it launching properly with some 4 link changes and different spring rate.

Dorset with any luck late this year, but if it’s next year it’s next year!
im putting every hour i have at the workshop in to it really.

It’s been another busy weekend at santapod crewing on the roadster however I managed to get a few hours in before to make a start on some metal work for the bulk head.
