Maurice, Ian, i've run similar blue silicone hose in the pop for the last 3 years with no side effects, but as you say it doesn't actually hold any fuel, just vapour, there again it might see a bit of fuel slosh of the line![]()

Been a while since updated last , momentum continues albeit at a slower pace . Revised the front inner wings , widened the fromt wings by just over an inch. Brain fog momnet there , as I changed the wheels from those that I begun with , and suffice to say never paid enough attention to the back space .. Doh !
A few other areas sorted out but noting really pic worthy .
In the interim Ive sold my old series 3 land rover , that needed a little work before setting off for its new home , then had some major MOT repairs on my long suffering daily driver , then pulled the rear axle out of the coupe to repair a sripped coupler .. still havent got around to sending the shaft and torque tube away to Firth Speed Shop to have the torque tube trued and a new shaft fabricated .. but might just do that today .. Then had a fuel tank breather issue on the old T2 VW while on our travels so that has undergone some remedial work . All rubber breather joints replaced and a full breather system plumbed in for the crankcase and the fuel tank breather plumbed into the air filter on one of the twin carbs . So hopefully be able to sleep in it on a windy night without the stink of fuel wafting through the cab .
Also be playing around with another 28 chassis , fitting a 2 litre pinto and 5 speed with a few other odds and ends to make it stop and steer . all that ontop of taking more time out to keep a check on my old fella that just turned 90 last week .
As if that wasnt enough Im still chasing up bits for the next project , turned up a Mk2 jag rear axle that had been narrowed to suit a Pop , its a bit of a mess but it was cheap enough and it was on my door step so added that to the parts pile . It needs a bit of help but hopefully can sort it out as and when required .
I still cant muster enough enthusiasm to register the roadster . been six years in the shed , unfortunately it needed a full body rebuild as well as a full mechanical revamp , so during lockdown ( remember that) I fitted a flathead V8 and hydraulic brakes, among a few other things and now DVLA need the thing to be standard to get first UK reg .. So currently not sure If I should just apply and hope for the best or retro fit the 4 banger for the purpose of the process .
So been keeping busy , its new bathrooms, windows and decking next so Im guessing my timeline for the pop will be out with the old windows ..
Cheers for now ..
