Moved the heater hoses from under the manifold to get it a bit cooler.
Whilst in there noticed the fuel rail to regulator return was starting crack so new hose ordered.
Stripped and cleaned injectors and fitted new O rings. Rad fitted and plumbed

Found a kink in the air pipe joiner so ordered some thicker tube for the connections but it's all too tight !

Breath in a bit, or suck in the guts!
Could gain a smidge of room with stainless and make bends up with the pie cut wedges? Might look cool too, if you like that sort of thing. Black hoses work though!

I can't see 4'' stainless being cheap tho !
About 40 squid a metre. Not exactly cheap, but not ridiculously expensive either? Ymmv.

could you squeeze the pipe into an oval to gain some room between engine and radiator? the silicon hoses and jubbly clips won't care.
neil.
Chris i just bought 1/2 metre of ali for a tenner and it's lighter !
Neil thats the plan for tomorrow

I don’t envy anyone making pie cuts lol been there many times and will be there again.
I’ve even bought them pre cut before just to save time! Usually cut myself, nearly lost the end of a finger once on a pie cuts job, that’s another story haha!

Thats funny re the mention of the pie cuts . When I read Toms post on the headers he just made I was going to ask about the pie cuts , if there was a less tedious way to make them but it seems its just part of the process . Doing it with aband saw might be easier , but I did my last lot wth a hack saw .. A proper chore . I did consider buying the redy cut wedges , but the price put me off ... I guess the challenge is why we do it![]()
You know those clever printable patterns for coping tubes for rollcages and the likes, I imagine a clever person could devise similar for pie cutting straight tubes to make bends. Imagine, chosing the degrees of bends, number of slices etc, print out, cut to shape, fix onto tube, mark out then cut with an ultra thin cutting disc. Only one problem, does such a thing exist, or who's clever enough to sort it? Not me for sure but I'll take a commission for the idea! Wonder what Google says?
Seen th segments for sale on ebay, kinda pricey as mentioned, but the ones that aren't full cut through so they can be bent to shape whilst not needing many limbs to keep together seem pretty neat.
Edit. How off the pace am I? Just seen these babies and other handy things! Clever and pretty inexpensive.
