    Custom shaved boot lock

    Hi I'm shaving the boot on my car and looking for a suitable lock that has a side pull cable for opening , any advice on what car to look at

    Have you seen Mr Tee's handbrake boot thread? It took a brief excursion into boot release! Golf apparently. The business end isn't shown but I expect that could be arranged!

    i've used cheap rally design fire system cables for boot release a few times. they have a 't' handle and come in 6 foot or 12 foot lengths which can of course be cut down to suit. as above ford used side pull boot catches so easy enough to get.

    Agreed on the Ford latch, I've used them on 4 cars, with either bonnet/boot pull cables or solenoids (Escort/Orion) off anything in the scrap yards (when you were allowed to walk around!) - build a bit of adjustment in the mounting to allow for panel mis-alignment
