Thanks Tim and Its still redoxide.
I must admit, I was disappointed with the first door card initially, but I worked on the bad bits and it came out like this
I may live in East London, I may have a number plate that reads "Chopt",
but I do NOT use 6" wheel spacers!
Looking good Ian![]()
Captain Scarlet is indestructible: I am not,but I'll give it a good go. Ian

The 2nd door card was worse than the 1st
The problems come when I cut out for the door pocket. For some unknown reason, the edge I've sewn around the opening hasn't come out nicely.
But I have a solution- get a bit of a wheelchair ramp for a taxi and cut it up
Then give it a polish, here it is on the drivers door :
I just need to make another to cover the multitude of sins on the passenger door, but I've run out of taxi ramps to cut up. Had to pay ?17 just to buy a bit of 3mm ally!
Here's the plastic sheeting screwed in place around the rear window to create something to attach the upholstery to. Plenty of velcro on there ready, I superglue it on, otherwise when you try to remove the material, the velcro usually stays stuck to the other velcro and pulls off where the self adhesive was.
This will start to look nicer when the material gets attached:
All machined, needs to have the window cut out. This is where it can go wrong - but I've got an idea. I'll show you next time.

Good save on the door opening! Nobody would have realised or known if you hadn't told the whole world!Do the ramps come in sizes big enough to make similar for the rear window? Could cut the cost and hassle and use flatbar, or possibly angle, but that would require welding. You could go visit your sis and swing by here and we could sort that.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.
Very kind offer Chris. Don't have any plans to visit my Sis but when I do go I'll definitely pass by and say hello!
The plastic sheet with the window cut out will allow me to cut and stick the material without ending up with a "thrupenny bit" shape in the corners.
Above - I was quite pleased with this, and it boosted my confidence too.
Below - its been in and out of the car many times today, getting there, but still more to do.
That fuel filler tube looks pants now! I'll have to cover it. Plenty material left so not a problem.

is it worth asking (samco etc?)if you can get silicon hose in that off white colour? if so replace the filler tube and that sorts the unsightly bit.
neil.
A bit of 4" soilpipe, with your trim on it would do it nicely.
If you need bits of ally in the future Ian, just give me a shout, it will only cost you postage.

Hey Mark, my budget doesnt run to buying soil pipe!
Very kind offer, I reckon I'll be taking you up on that!
I covered the pipe, looks better now.
Also my speaker trims arrived today from Whengparts.
They fit here:

Ive always thought that the worst thing that can happen to a project is when the builder loses their enthusiasm.
To see how far down the page this thread had fallen reminded me how little has happened on it lately.
Its been extremely frustrating, not being able to get the Morris even to go round the block for its first drive. I'm still waiting for the manifold.
My plan was to see how it drove and then decide whether or not to keep the original leaf springs, but given the lack of progress, and noticing that there was only 3 1/4" clearance for the sump pushed me to get the front leafs uprated 30%.
I'll probably fit some sort of sump guard too.
I just sent this one to Jones Springs, they are happy for me to return it them if it needs tweaking to get the ride height where I want it.
Ive still got fiddly bits of trim to finish off, and lots of details to tidy, so I'm going back out to the garage to do whatever I can, hopefully reigniting my own enthusiasm for it. Continuing to chase the manifold.
Also, I was recently offered a Rover V8 for a good price, but it needs lots of bits, and with money tight ATM, and lack of space....So I'll probably pass on that one. Although, If anyone has a flywheel cheap i could change my mind.
UPDATE: just had a message from manifold guy, reckons it will be coming next week!
