    Epoxy primer

    hello, i wont to use epoxy primer on repairs to my pop, i am unable to use a spray gun so rattle cans, my problem is are they diy friendly.

    why not brush or roller the epoxy on? it'll be cheaper and thicker than aerosols and without any overspray to deal with. yes the finish means it'll take a little more sanding to smooth it for topcoat but the plus points outweigh the minus for me for diy use anyway.

    What Neil said, cheap sponge rollers as they will swell in use- throw them away afterwards.

    Why cant you use a spray gun?

    Get some Prodec epoxy foam rollers they don't swell as much as the other cheap brands

    Are we talking1k or 2k? I've no experience of 1k but 2k is great. 2k is pretty pricey in rattle cans, 1k less so but you're paying for propellant. Regular 2k is much cheaper by volume than rattle cans so as long as you don't mix excessive quantities and brush or roller you've got little waste and no overspray. I guess it depends on what you're doing. Whole car in one or repair patches?

    Thank you all for your addvice, i am looking at 2k, i will go with brushes and rollers.

    Do you have any pics you can share with an example of finishes after final sanding and polishing please?

    we're talking about rollering/brushing 2k primer not topcoat here
