    Forum update, some info

For those that don't do Facebook, there's a recent explanation there on what's going on (insert frustrated and obvious comment).

The downtime we've been experiencing here are as a result of ongoing work, quote ahead of a major update and migration to vBulletin 6. Please bear with us while we make this happen, it will be worth it, end quote.

Was news to me and probably you but now we hopefully all know a little more than we did. I know John has been making some comments but they were a little vague imo, but I think he lives in the dark along with the rest of us.

    Exciting!

    Chris

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.

it makes me laugh, any and all messages/updates go straight on faceache and if we're lucky someone tells us mere mortals what's going on. now i'm not good with technology but even i can copy and paste (my builds go on a few forums). so..... why can't whoever posts this stuff on faceache just copy and paste it here too? it's not exactly an hours work to let us know is it? ok, wining over, lol.

Thank you Chris for the info

And to add to what Neil said, most people who have read that on fb have no interest in the forum now, they have moved on,we lost them years ago and they will never come back, and we are still losing more forum members now
There is a touch of "locking the garage door after the Mustang has bolted"

I've been having same problem, I have not posted much lately as forum is down so much. I don't do facebook never will and if the NSRA keeps going to facebook then it will lose a member. I understand that there are many posts on facebook about events that never seem to appear on the clubs Forum such a shame.

Further why doesn't someone in the know put a post on here to tell us what is going on with Forum, no ruddy good doing it on facebook!

So, after the baby sitting today i come back on, what was i going to right this AM, no idea, but looking at the stats 42 people have read this, in rodding discusion ??? i remember coming home from a 12 hour shift and having four pages to go through. I won't blame Mick for making it a club forum,it had got right out of hand with guests and members. But at this rate i wonder if there's any chance of building it back up ?
Question .... what other forums are people using rods and sods, retro rides, vhra ?

rods n sods, mopar muscle association, for a bodies only, fe power and gasser hotrod. all are forums. the only thing i occasionally look at on faceache is the unusual car sales uk and their parts and spares bit, but only if it's quiet on the forums and there's nowt on the telly.

I moderate rods n sods, but Retro Rides is my go-to forum now.
Such varied content, nobody runs anyone elses cars down, and some very clever people on there.

I do here, rods n sods and very occasionally still look in on the HAMB . I think rods and sods survives on regular posts from about 10 members . The HAMB has some degree of tumbleweed, and here is pretty slow . I dont do Facebook at all. Sorry to say but you need to be brain dead to scroll through the endless garbage on that info harvesting spy network . Bring back the 80s .

I saw this posted the other day. Which sort of made me feel that a resurgence of the forum could be possible if only we could get the damn thing working properly !!

Much prefer old skool forums to FB. I'm still on a lot of Ducati/Aprilia forums

Forums tend to have much more gentlemanly conduct etc.

Facebook is great.... if you want to have an argument about where to put a sticker
