Edelbrock Performer RPM heads SBC any good

    Hi ya
Currently i've got cast iron heads that were off a crate 350. But seen a pair of eddy heads.

I know these have bigger valves etc and are lighter.

These are used heads is it worth looking at.

Not interested in max high rev power more low to mid range.

    Cheers for any advice.

Still giving a thinking about. Checking out the gains against the work, cost (which is reasonable) plus any new bits needed ie pushrods, rockers, gaskets etc and a 7-8 hr, round trip to check them and collect if any good.

Plus I am getting too old for all that malarkey.

My understanding is that Edelbrock stuff is at the wilder end of the spectrum.

Bumper sticker - This is an historic vehicle and only has three speeds....... if you don't like this one you sure as hell won't like the others.

the rpm cam is getting 'hot' for a stock 350 but the heads are fine even for a stocker.

    Hi all

Has anyone got real world use of these heads.

My engine is 356ci, 4 bolt. flat top pistons, edelbroc performer plus cam, eddy performer dual plane inlet, eddy 600cfm 1405. Fenderwell exhaust mainfolds.

Currently still on cast iron heads off a 290hp crate engine.

Seen some stuff on yank sites some good some bad.

    Cheers

you'll notice an improvement, a matching rpm cam, inlet and stepping up to a 750 carb would complete the 'packege'. the current parts will restrict the heads potential which combined with you saying your car is a cruiser not a race car is why i said it wouldn't be worth swapping the heads. just because they're cheap doesn't mean you'll see good value from them with your current combination.

    Cheers mate.

Not knocking your knowledge, just hoped somone may have had real world running these.

Seems like too much grief, for not much gain.
